Drummond next Sunday will feature most of the top British pro racers in our backyard:

Pinarello-Candi-tv

Plowman-Craven Madison

Rapha-Condor

KUK Kinesis

Endura

& The Joansin

You are too late to enter this event but would make a good destination for the Sunday Bunch. I'll update with the course route but probably

5 times round the old Stewarton Road/A77 to end up Ballagioch Hill.

Jim

This is a fantastic field. Absolutely huge respect to you for entering. Please give us a report.

You have been looking really good through the winter; I am sure you'll be in top form for this.

I am working but will try to get along with a camera.

Regards

Alan

Obviously, I entered this before the Archer Premier Calendar race was cancelled and forced a few decent cyclists to consider another racing weekend in Scotland.

I wonder if they will show up for the tli APR at Moniaive?

HQ for Drummond this year is opposite a school on Strathaven Rd, Eaglesham.

Starts at 11am.

Neutral along Montgomery Street / B764.

Turn right on to A77 and race begins after a brief stop.

Turn left 1km after M77 junction (near the Malletsheugh).

Turn left again onto Dodside Rd (B769, known as old Stewarton Rd).

Feed station at quarry about 3km along B769 (a bottle or some steak, egg and chips would be much appreciated).

Turn left 4km before and to the North of Stewarton.

Turn left back onto A77about 2-3km North of Fenwick.

Repeat 5 laps.

Not confirmed, but usually turn right onto B764.

After about 3km finish at high point (Ballagioch Hill) on road to Eaglesham.

I'm afraid a top three placing is out of the question.

3 completed laps may well turn out to be an achievement.

Forecast is currently showing very light winds. 8-)

Best chance to get a photo of me is during the neutral section. I wont last long after that.

Top of the feed area is the longest steepest climb.

I can't quite locate your Grid Ref. Seems to be at junction with a useful link road that splits the circuit in two and passes Black Loch. Both ends of that road would see the racers go by pretty fast.

Whenever I try to map out the route, it fails to save.

That last post was in inadvertent bad taste. There was a great turnout in lovely weather today and it was good to see so many top riders.

One JWCC, Jim, holding his own against the bunch, and lots of Wheelers turned up to spectate.

But I am sorry to say there was a crash on the second lap and the race had to stopped. Best wishes to the injured riders.
