Ken Mac
I presume the usual bunch will be suitably recovered after the festive season and raring to go at 9am as usual. Weather looks not too bad if we get finished before midday.

Members Kenny MacDonald
Left at 9:05am ( teling porkies Mullhooligan ) as we waited for young Greg who slept in - the youth nowadays who was still asleep in his pit The 4 amigos - Bill,Ken Mac ,Davie R and auld MacD set out for Howwood and Bowfield climb First climb of the day and we wound our way upwards towards Bowfield, and over to Greenacres. Heading over to Hall we crossed wheeltracks with George & kat who turned and joined us as we dropped down to Caldwell and across to Uplawmoor. With George setting pace we climbed up into Uplawmoor stretching out groupetto on climb, we carried on thru village towards Neilston ( pronounced Nawlston) before turning right and climb towards dunlop road , this is done in 2 stages. With George and yours truly setting pace bunch spread out on both climbs Turning onto Harelaw dam road it was upward and onward into stiff headwind The last steep lift saw multi hillclimb champ George stretch his legs and sweep over summit K.O.M. with yours truly close behind and Kat and Bill next over summit The roller coaster section to summit at Dunlop was into a fierce headwind and the group ground on relentlessly At Stewarton George & kat turned for home the lure of a lunch date with Ali Winship outweighing the delights of another 2 hours magical mystery tour in deepest Ayrshire Dropping into the bonnet toun we carried on thru before turning right towards Irvine. Still fighting the cold headwind we headed towardss Irvine before turning right to the holiday camp at sunny Auchentiber We crossed over Lugton road and headed to Kilwinning , where we did a detour thru scheme( employing rear gunner ) as we cut across past dead centre of Kilwinning and road towards Dalry. The last couple of lifts before Dalry road started to take its toll on the buch and cracks started to appear in bunch. Crossing over we headed toward Glengarnock and the Lochside circuit. Joining the cycle track at Glengarnock we finally enjoyed a tailwind wind assisted we set off for home at pace Cranking it up we sped to Lochwinnoch in good spirits, where Ken Mac opted for a cafe break and the 3 stooges cracked on homeward Bill carried on the track as Davie R and Kenny MacD left track and headed thru Kilbarchan towards Beith road and home 50 tough miles , brought some sore legs but a great new year run for the 30 milers K.O.M. George Performance of the day :- Bill who gets stronger each week Comeback of the day :- Davie R who got stronger as the run went on Ian Simmet cafe award :- Ken Mac Losers of the day :- Greg and Martin sleepy heads Quote of the day :- Ian Simmet - weather forecast isnt that great !!!! how wrong you where
ianfsimmet
{ by the time i rose} passed a tired looking ken mac heading back home as i headed out, 13.00 hrs.. weather started off badly and gradually got worse, your trip seemed a tad more testing than mine as i bailed oot at 22 miles. without cafe stop.,!! but weather certainly makes you work that bit harder just trying to get home , sun, rain, sleet, and hale all in the space of thirty mins.several times over,,great test for new w/proof jacket..it works! will def be out next sun regards and good new year to all..
