Hertz Van Rental
Winner's speed = 13.23mph. Record speed = 16.48mph. Kenny - Isn't record held jointly between Dud and Grambo? Both were equal on the tenths of a second, but Grambo faster on the hundredths. Both agreed on the day that it's not possible to manually time to 1/100th of a second, but Dud did volunteer to accept 2nd place that year if I recall? On the other hand - maybe I'm full of wind and pi5h (as usual )?
Members Kenny MacDonald
I agree with your comments Gordon in my opinion even counting tenths of seconds is not possible with 2 seperate hand held stopwatches. The trophy which replaced the original hillclimb trophy was engraved with the winner as Graeme Herd 1min 22 .6secs hence the record is as shown on trophy . The year was 1988 previous year shows a tie between G Herd and I campbell in 1 min 26 secs so was it a tie 2 years running????
Hertz Van Rental
No Kenny, just the one tie. Guess I was only partially full of pi5h then!
