2023 Subscriptions Gerard Deeley Posted January 23, 2023 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted January 23, 2023 A welcome to all club members now reading this, you have now entered the nirvana of JWCC participation that is our Confined Events. Last year was a mixed bag for these events as we looked at ways to get rider participation across the board. The Reliability Rides did sort of happen, though it is now clear that we need to factor in bad weather in February. The APR events were well attended and they will be back. Using the Georgetown League worked well as those who did them were getting a midweek TT in a well run format. The Hill Climb Event was a superb day for the club so the misery of that minute and a bit was all worth it. The Restricted Gear events did not happen and there was only one Hilly TT, if the opportunity arises then we shall keep trying them. First events of 2023 will be our Reliabilities, the traditional test of rider and steed during the last throws of winter and into spring’s lacklustre arrival. Along with the traditional set routes the club has used for many years we can also expect the traditional torrential rain to cancel them. Previously this meant shifting the busy calendar about to reschedule them over less popular events. Learning from this we have a more rolling schedule that accommodates postponements by allowing a few extra weeks before scheduling our next events. In summary I will post up the Reliability Rides as they happen, starting with the Tour of Renfrewshire on the 5 February.
