From the front page of the free paper that came through my door this morning..

 

 

A 29 year old mechanic from Renfrew was almost killed when a motorist tried to run over him and his bike. The driver missed on his first attempt but mounted the pavement to mow down both the cycling mechanic and his bike. The cycling mechanic's injuries are as yet unknown but the police are treating the incidend as attempted murder.

The driver of the car was desciribed as short (rules me out), 30 - 40 (also rules me out), balding (once again rules me out) and slightly over weight ((still not me).

I have no idea if this incident is in any way related to the missing world champs jersey but I suspect both Kenny S and Martin M can expect a visit from the boys in blue any day now.

The biggest surprise is that Dougie got away with saying he was 29!

 

I wish the story was made up but it seems to be true - if anyone has information on this incident please contact the police direct.
