Just a reminder that the club events for July are as follows,

July 4 Tuesday 19.15 Chocolate #1 Georgetown Road

July 11 Tuesday 19.15 Chocolate #2 Georgetown Road

July 16 Sunday 08.00 Open Audax (204 Km) Johnstone

July 18 Tuesday 19.15 Chocolate #3 Georgetown Road

July 25 Tuesday 19.15 Chocolate #4 Georgetown Road

The Chocolate series is an event whose winner has not recorded a 10m TT time of less than 26m and is decided on the best 3 results from the series of 5 events. So it should give a good start for the first time TT'ers in the club.

I will be there on Tuesday and if required will keep time.

As Ian mentioned elsewhere not a great turn out for the first of the chocolate series  For my part I'm afraid work commitments look as if they are going to scupper the whole series this year :uzi

However........ just to add to Ian's comments above. The chocolate series is aimed at those who would like a first taste of time trialling (but NOT only those!). It's a 7.5 mile course (ie shorter than the usual) on a very quiet road (the starting point is on the Georgetown road (B790) at the airport end (just before the junction with the A726) (here - http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi? ... 7&down.y=5) and the course heads back to Houston, turns at the roundabout, and finishes at the start. It's basically flat (a drag up to the turn) and has that very long straight section which usually lets you see the person in front of you that you should be chasing :rockets . AND..........most of it (unfortunately not all of it) was resurfaced earlier this year which means it's very very fast

While the series prizes will only be awarded to those who haven't posted a time faster than 26 min for a 10, (or those who haven't posted any time at all for anything!) the events are of course open to all club members.

This really is an ideal opportunity to have a go. You may bump into the occasional commonwealth team member or paralympian gold medallist but state of the art time trial machines are not required. Have a go on the drops, borrow tri bars if you can, just turn up to see what goes on, or learn about time keeping. Before you know it you'll be counting down the days til the next one to see if you can better your time Oh ya dancer !

Any questions, just post them here.

Cheers

SH
