Gutted we missed you, to be fair Charlie was 4 mins late! Knee held up pretty well, can't complain with the weather and even managed a coffee stop within a 2hr ride.
How about this for a route: down church street, over to clohidric stone, up to barnbrock, Kilmalcolm, finlaystone, gleddoch, Houston, bow.
A few hills but no intention of anything other than sauntering up them.
Looking at strava mr Archibald went 4:00 up the clune, Iain mcT and Colin were 4:26 and 4:29 respectively. Sounds like you'd have given him a run for his money
Race 1 is 2:30 - me, Alex and Paul leavy in group 1: Charlie, Colin ad George in group 2, and Greg Henderson (i thought he was a pro for lotto soudal) in group 3
Race 2 is at 4:15 - Alan Mcbride and andy in group 1, Paul McD in group 2.
I have a feeling it's two laps but not entirely sure.
Sorry forgot to say Charlie, I'll most likely see you on sat so I could pick up jersey then.
Cheers for the advice guys. I'm easy on ride/drive. I won't make Saturday - though Andy's given me all the info I need!
It's 2 laps isn't it? I'll learn first time round...
Cheers Alex, will wait to see what the wise old men think! Fenwick is quite a long way away! Don't want the two of us turning up with nothing left... Charlie might win!
A few (stupid) questions from a first time racer...
Is anybody planning on riding over to fenwick?
If driving, are you wearing your race kit there or do you get changed into/out of gear there?
Is anyone planning on hanging around after race 1 to watch race 2?
If so will there be food & drink available?
I'm sure I'll think of some more later... I'm a worrier
I'm really not that fussed to be honest Charlie, I wouldn't want to take a spot from anyone if they really wanted to do it. And you guys didn't actually get to do the full route last year so it's only fair you get a crack at the full 100.
