  1. Did Bout 1 Mon, Bout 2 Tues - about 1hr each session. Had to give the Turbo sessions a miss to allow recovery, but managed a single commute to work on Fri. Still felling it...
  2. Will join you at Red Smiddy. Cheers
  3. Charlie, Can't make Sun either. Will meet you and George at Red Smiddy on Sat. Cheers
  4. I'll meet up at the Red Smiddy. Let me know if the route changes. Cheers Alan
  5. Andy, What route are you following from Johnstone? Can't make Sun this week, but might manage Sat. Cheers Alan
  6. Should be out for this. Will meet at Red Smiddy roundabout.
  7. An alternative to Mallorca Training Camp or if you want to take the family to the sun and cycle... A friend at work has a flat for rent in Costa Blanca. Haven't used it myself, but plenty of folk at work have and all reports are excellent. Summary..."two bed apartment costablanca, ideally situated for cycling, includes the use of a TREK MTB and a Cannondale CAAD8 roadbike. See cycling tab for details (can also deliver hire bikes)" https://sites.google.com/site/blancaholiday/home
  8. I know it's a long way off, but is anyone looking for the opportunity to utilise their Mallorcan Training or Billy's Training Program or simply up for a challenge...http://www.opencycling.com/?
  9. Will meet at bridge if heading over the water. Cheers Alan
  10. 82 mile Ullapool Mor completed in 06:13 (official 06:24 incl. stops.) Hardest challenge ever for me on two wheels. Some serious climbing involved - not least a 25% that nearly had the white flag out. But managed to complete it at a staggering 4mph! Gale force winds and the rain didn't help either. However, best day yet in the saddle, with stunning scenery. Well worth the trip North. Won't be at the Hill Climb Champs as I don't want to be close to a hill on two wheels for a while - day of rest required. Cheers Alan
  11. Anyone available to show me the ropes on weight training as I've never used them before, or planning to join a gym for the training and wants company? May also be beneficial to at least start the training program in a group? Cheers Alan
  12. Mark, If the route out is still Georgetown/Bishopton, then I'll pick the first bunch up at the Red Smiddy/Bishopton. Cheers Alan
  13. Hi Pauline, Sounds good. I'm planning to go under canvas on the Fri night at Broomfield Holiday Park and leave straight after the sportive. I'll PM you nearer the time. Cheers
  14. Al, camping in Glencoe on Fri night and returning home straight after the event. I'll be back, but whether I make the club ride will be up for debate with my legs. Maybe I'll use it as a recovery ride.....!!!??
  15. Entered the Ullapool Mor on 29th Sept 2012 - details: http://handsonevents.co.uk/Events/Ullapool/Ullapool.htm Anyone else up for getting away from it all? Cheers
  16. Colin, I've also entered the Ullapool Mor on the 29th and would welcome the company. Cheers
  17. I've applied to enter the Fort William Lochaber 100 on 22nd Sept. Details on link: http://www.tearfundcycling.btck.co.uk/FortWilliam Anyone else up for it?
  18. Me...unlikely to make the trip, but I'll make the curry night.
  19. Completed a shortened version of the sportive as a result of severe weather conditions - the Mountain Rescue Team closed the main climb for safety reasons as a result of 80mph winds at the summit! Route was reduced by 25 miles to 63 miles. Completed in 3hrs 23mins. Pleased with this considering the wind and rain! Not to be deterred, I'll be heading up again next year to hopefully complete the whole run with the added benefit of a winter training programme!!??
  20. Mark, Great to hear you're on the way to full recovery. Thanks to Ian and Kenny for the assists.
