  1. There's silverware at stake this time for the David Raymond Trophy, in the clubs 2-up championships. As usual first-timers and returners welcome! If you don't have a partner to ride with don't worry, you may find one on the night, or you can ride solo (Though solo rides will not count for the trophy!). First rider off at 09:30, meet at 09:15 at the usual place towards the Inchinnan end of Georgetown Road. Here's the link to the course: JWCC Georgetown Road TT Route for anyone who may not have done this route before. Two volunteers to officiate please. Depending on whose there, they may have a fairly gentle club ride (recovery ride?) afterwards, the route will depend on who is there, weather, etc.
  2. The last Tuesday evening practice before the club 2-up Championship, which is on Sunday 21st. As usual first-timers and returners welcome! Teams of all shapes and sizes are welcome to have a go on these '2-up' TTs on Tuesday evenings in August, bigger teams should mean smaller times! If you don't have a partner to ride with don't worry, you can form a team on the night, or you can ride solo! Meet at 18:45 at the usual place towards the Inchinnan end of Georgetown Road. Here's the link to the course: JWCC Georgetown Road TT Route for anyone who may not have done this route before. A team of 2 volunteers please to officiate?
  3. After the weather induced 'non-event' last week, this may be the first of this years 2-up TTs. 4. Here's my estimated schedule for meeting up for this trip, all are welcome but please post up - or we may not wait for you! 09:15 Kilmacolm, Pullman 09:30 Bridge of Weir, behind Amaretto's 09:40 Kilbarchan, on cycletrack bridge 09:55 Lochwinnoch, Annexe in the park
  5. Looks like a nice route Paul, but a bit far for me this week. I'm thinking of Largs, out via Fairlie Moor and back by Brisbane Glen. A few hills and a cafe, but about half the miles of Sorn. If you can lower your sights to something that modest your welcome to come along, otherwise enjoy your trip!
  6. It will be good to see you, Len if you do make it - so long as the lurgy isn't infectious!
  7. Well done Campbell, an awesome effort! Like Richard, I look forward to hearing all about it.

  9. Andy, We'll be going through Lochwinnoch and Kilbirnie on the way to the ferry, not BoW (though I'll be going through at about 07:10 on the way to Miller St.). You could save a few minutes by coming over the leather works road and joining us on the track at Kilbarchan if you like, I expect to be there about 07:40. I see there are others planning to join us at Lochwinnoch, I estimate 07:55 there. I plan to go on the track to Kilburnie, then on the B780 through Dalry and stay on the B780 over the hill into Ardrossan. Also, I spoke to CalMac today about space on the ferry. The nice lady just said turn up in good time and hope there's space! So it looks like that's what we'll need to do, but she didn't anticipate any problem.
  10. I'll be along for this one, I've not been to Whitelees for a while.
  11. It's the last of this year's League of 10 TTs this time. First-timers and returners welcome! First rider off at 19:00, so meet at 18:45 at the layby on the Clyde side of the M8/A8 roundabout between Bishopton and Langbank. A 10 mile route up to the roundabout at Ferguson's Shipyard, Port Glasgow and back. Here's a link to the route: Westferry 10. Two volunteers please to officiate.
  12. I don't think you've anything to worry about Morna, based on your Rapha run the other week I don't think many of us will be waiting for you! I think Carol and Dave are planning to get the train so you'll have company for that, and have fresh legs for the island when some of us will already have the edge taken off our energy!
  13. It's the club championship on the Westferry this week, but all members and potential members are welcome - previous time trial experience may be helpful, but is not required - first timers are welcome! Jane has volunteered to help me officiate on this one, so everyone who wants to should be able to ride. There's a trophy at stake this time so a chance for some glory, here's a photo of the silverware to be won:-
  14. The sixth of this year's League of 10 TTs on the Westferry. Two volunteers please to officiate.
  15. It was great to see Hannah out on her bike, and look forward to her joining more rides. I went to Largs via Fairlie Moor and met several members on 'unofficial' rides, but had finished my coffee and cake and was just leaving the BB when the 30 milers turned up! They must have been enjoying the scenery en-route! (though they admitted to sheltering from a shower)
  16. It's back to the Westferry this week, with the fifth of this year's League of 10 TTs.
  17. Anyone up for an intermediate run this week? I've not been to Eaglesham Moor for a while, but other options could be considered. Meet 09:00 Miller St.
  18. Hi Karen, I'd not realized it was the same weekend as Bealach na BÃ . I've been put off that trip by the midges and all the driving, but if it causes a conflict for others we could look at alternative dates for this one.
  19. I'm planning ahead a bit, but am keen to go and enjoy the delights of Arran before the end of the season. It will be a full day out, getting the 09:45 ferry out and the 16:40 back. Both these link to trains for anyone who doesn't want to cycle both ways and it gives us 6 hrs on the island which should be enough to do the 55 miles and have a lunch stop. If we were to miss the 16:40 return ferry there is a contingency 19:40 ferry which is also met by a train so there's not much chance of being stranded! Miller Street to the ferry is 26 miles, so that makes 107 miles in total for anyone choosing to do the whole route. Meeting at Miller St. at 07:30 should give us time to get the ferry, with an expected return time about 19:30 if cycling back. The ferry train leaves Johnstone at 08:54, returning at 18:28, so a bit more time in bed for anyone looking to save their energy for the island. Anyone like to join in, either for the full version or just the island? Note:- This trip should not be confused with any DA trips, it will not be a Team Time Trial, but there will be time to enjoy the views and the hospitality on offer on the island, as well as stopping for a few minor mechanicals should they occur!
  20. The eighth of this year's scheduled Chocolate Series of ten TTs, the remaining two being at the end of August. First rider off at 19:00, so meet at 18:45 at the usual place towards the Inchinnan end of Georgetown Road. Here is a link to the course: JWCC Georgetown Road TT Route I'll help with this one, but another volunteer as well please.
  21. Planning on a day out over the river on Friday. Out via Dumbarton and Drymen to Aberfoyle, return via Lake of Mentieth, Killearn, Strathblane, Milngavie. Coffee stop at Aberfoyle with a possible second one in Killearn. A 70 mile loop from Erskine, suggest meeting at the bridge at 08:30, but could change that if another time suits others better.
  22. The seventh of this year's scheduled Chocolate Series of TTs, this time. First rider off at 19:00, so meet at 18:45 at the usual place towards the Inchinnan end of Georgetown Road. Here is a link to the course: JWCC Georgetown Road TT Route Two volunteers please to timekeep and hold-up / push-off.
  23. I'm looking to get out for a run tomorrow, not got any specific route in mind, though I haven't been to Aberfoyle or Whitelees Wind Farm for a while, but Richard's route up the canal looks good too - decisions, decisions. Company welcome, if anyone else can arrange for a day out?
  24. The sixth of this year's scheduled Chocolate Series of TTs, this time. First rider off at 19:00, so meet at 18:45 at the usual place towards the Inchinnan end of Georgetown Road. Here is a link to the course: JWCC Georgetown Road TT Route Richard has offered to timekeep for this one, but another volunteer please to hold-up / push-off. I plan on riding this time.
  25. Hi Paul, I've got commitments on Thursday, but have a pass-out for Friday if your free then? I've done some homework on the Eaglesham route and anticipate getting it right next time! Graham.
