Hi all Sorry cannot join you doing the Glasgow 100K. That starts and finishes at Bishopton and goes via Kilmacolm to Old Greenock Road returning to Renfrewshire via Lochwinnoch. Might be busy if you are planning a run in that area. The 100 mile route is via Stewarton. Could always tag along and take advantage of the free food provided. John

Tom I am doing the stage 1 of the Tour of Britain on 4 Sept. I am involved with the Prosrtate Cancer Charity. Their research funding saved me. Dont know if my pace(slower than yours) would provide much company for you. John

Greig Good idea and would support training/education runs now and then. Also agree about west ferry. Most of 30 milers perhaps dont have the confidence or bike handling skills to be comfortable on a dual carriageway with traffic at 60/70 mph passing them. I think the Thursday night suggestion has merit however as a newcomer to bunch riding I would be rather frightened to join the Thursday bunch especially after some posts re on road behaviour posted earlier this year. The main thing is to enjoy cycling and to do it safely with good company. Happy to improve and will support anything the club offers. Cheers John

Greig Might join you however would have second thoughts about A78 A8 to Greenock on Sunday. With the Tall Ships their will be a lot of road closures and lanes closed and heavy traffic. The park and ride sites are Inverkip A78 and near Bishopton for A8. Lot of car drivers looking at boats and not whatever or whoever is on the road. Cheers John
