  1. If anybody is still looking for tickets for the first event at the new Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, a friend of mine has 4 tickets for sale (he can't make it from South Land now) for the afternoon of the 17th. Face value of £12 all seats together.
  2. I was bothered to read all that!
  3. Richard looked like a freight train in the last 100m... I should probably be grateful he didn't know where the finish was! Great photos Colin, it was every bit as sore as it looked. I forgot to thank Alan for results and graham for loan of a jacket.
  4. Richard, that's a pretty good time for someone who wasn't sure they'd get to the top!
  5. Just to add to what Paul said, I was really impressed with the turnout from the juniors today! I've never seen the Jets in full flight before and it was fantastic. A real credit to those involved.
  6. Richie, the Garmin I use tends to have a lag of a second or two between starting moving and starting recording... Thanks to Billy for pushing off, Martin for shelter and tunes and all involved for organising, was a great atmosphere and great fun. I even found my missing bank card up by the top of the road closure! Now I need to go find me some beer
  7. That photo is excellent, the only problem from an aesthetic point of view is that you allowed youself to be photographed in the saddle on a hillclimb.
  8. Few things on that Richard... firstly I do a few training rides involving riding the same hill 3 times and only the first one is ever any cop time wise. Secondly, a push off is worth a lot more than you think in terms of time. Finally, its all in your head. You just need to accept its going to hurt but its only 2 minutes
  9. David... I just like writing my name out like its on a cricket scorecard.
  10. Again, in the order they went off... P D Malcolm : 1:44 (PB) Thanks to Campbell for pushing off and an enjoyable ride home!
  11. I'm ducking out of work an hour early so I can go home and get togged up before coming along. How's that for dedication?
  12. Can somebody confirm that this is, in fact, tonight. As in Tuesday. I was thinking it was Thursday and came out without any gear!
  13. Just back in the house after this... 5th for The 3rd year running with a new PB of 8:15. Winner was Ali Robinson in 7:13. I was second last off with my aim being to not get caught by Robinson. He got me in the last 50m... hats off to him, he won by one second and thanked me for digging hard up the last 300m steep section to push him a bit harder. Woke up with a cold this morning too so pretty pleased all in.
  14. Well that was grim... Results in the order they went out P D Malcolm- 1:51 Even that may actually be a DNF as I didn't trip the segment on Strava, so may have stopped the watch early! Let's just forget the whole sorry mess eh? On an aside, that road was crazy busy tonight. 3 cars came past me as I was putting my bag by the side of the road to start and another 2 on the way up!
  15. So... anyone coming then? 1830 for 1845 start
  16. You're right! Title amended... It was a futile attempt to win by default
  17. Any takers for this then? Same time kick off as the 2 up? Anyone to timekeep?
  18. No worries Mark, I wasn't planning on riding anyway. Saving my biscuits for the HC on thursday nad an open HC on Sunday.
  19. The Madonna also has the famous cyclists chapel/museum at the top, which is absolutely stuffed iwth memorabila.
  20. I tried to find one of Fignon in the Casto kit, Martin, but they were thin on the ground. Probably all destroyed as a stipulation of his will to protect his legacy!
  21. On sencond look I quit like Chung's design, although my initial impression was that the blue bottom and shoulders may make it look a bit well...
