Thanks for the company guys and keeping the pace manageable well almost! George if you have the nerve to read this, you are a big blouse. John.
  4. Allan, I still don't know how you stayed upright when your front wheel went on the cattle grid. Plus Ian, almost becoming to friendly with that sheep. As for my team they don't half know how to make it hard. Iain I hope you 24hr event goes well good luck. John
  5. Enjoyed the run today, even if it was a tad wet, warmish rain in October, who would believe it. Cheers Guys John.

  9. Sorry wont make this one, attending tribal war at Ibrox. John.
  10. Tight buns, what is SAGA? Billy's suggestion of 50/70 miles easy flattish run with café break sounds good, perhaps the bunches could merge for those? John.
  11. Nice to see that big yellow thing in the sky. Thanks guys for not pushing it, I even managed to get to work feeling OK. John.
  12. Mark, Miller St, 9.30am it is see you there. John.
  13. Mark, I'm free between 9am 3pm. So if your interested and don't get a better offer, 80 steady miles + café break looks good. I presume that when you mention 80+ miles you have the day off! John
  14. Re-pinching tyres, there is an excellent DVD free with this Months Cycling plus magazine (October by the way) which covers basic maintenance, including punctures. John.
  15. Alan I managed to puncture twice with the Gators yesterday on my X bike 25mm. To be fair that is the first time I have punctured with them, as for getting them on I manage with my hands, have ordered a couple of folding ones so they should be even easier to put on. John.
  16. Have done in 5 Shwalbe Ultremo ZX tyres over the last couple of months, so decided to order a couple of Gator skins for road bike, out on X bike today fitted with 2 700x25cc Gator skins, and who was the only one with not one but two punctures today , so all I can say is sorry for the hold ups on such a miserable day. John.
  17. George, Elaine, Sitting here feeling feverish and splitting headache, honestly thought I was going to have to phone home for a lift round about langbank this morning. Funny thing is I felt a lot better going up the Bowfield at the end. George, maybe it was watching my team hang on against 10 men that has made me unwell. Thanks for the company. John.
  18. George I have posted to meet Elaine, at the clubhouse 9am never noticed you cry for help Why don't you join us, might not be as fast as you want but you could always hammer the hills. John.
  19. Will be there, no wet excuses now. John.
  20. Hi Elaine If you want I can go out for 30-40 miles have to be back for 12noon, so 9am would be ideal. John.
  21. Can't make the 18th as it is the Old Firm game and I have to go and tell wee Lenny to calm down and take the defeat like a man. John.
  22. That was the hardest outing I have done by far, thanks to all for the encouragement to get my obese frame up the climbs. I punctured less than a mile from home, made an ass of repairing it, a wee nip! then a young lady came walking along front wheel punctured, on her way to Glasgow! so I repaired it for her with my last tube. Then legged it home, 45 Min's to do the last mile, is that a record. George mate, you said you wanted to see me suffer, well you certainly did. Smashing day, but going with Chung next time! no cafe break I ask you. John.

I know this might not be fit in with your plans for the day, regardless I will see you Sunday at clubhouse 7.30am to head down to Gourock. John.
