  1. The omnipresent David Thomson, spied near the Bells bridge on the south side today.
  2. That's fine by me Rich. Give me a shout re kick off time. We can work something out.
  3. Garnering interest in a run, its round the lake of Mentieth over the top of the world, Killearn and home. Im out for a few shandies on Saturday so early Sunday is a non starter for me.
  4. Apologies Rich, poor form there. Great minds and all that.
  5. Got a new project. FYI if there was to be only one website, I wasn't allowed any other then it'd be YouTube. I could happily spend all day on it.
  6. We want change, when do we want it? Some time soon! Id echo Darryl's sentiment. It would be great if we could approach, say, the art school with a view to presenting graphics students with a brief then choosing a few designs with the final vote going to a manufacturer of our choice. (Do we know who the manufacturer will be?) Giving the opportunity to re-design our kit to a local, creative body would give us a unique outfit rather than the generic schemes that manufacturers can offer. Exciting times indeed. Viva la revolution!
  7. Just sat down after cleaning my bike, as Alan said the weather was glorious so not much in the way of clean up required. If only there were a prize for cleanest bike... It seems Sven Nys has nothing to worry about this season after all. It would appear that cooked breakfasts/kebabs/beer and little in the way of riding your bike does not constitute a worthy training plan, meh. I wasn't last today but not far off it. Hoping to ride into some form. Haven't hurt like that for a while so hoping it will get faster. I was akin to a burst ball at the end, lost loads of places on the last two laps. Great to see the Johnstone ably represented in the old yins race. Believe it or not I've still got four years to go! A hard paper round etc. Well done to the Jets as well! Surely there are more seniors lurking on here. Give it a go, its great fun and a proper workout to boot. Auchentoshan next.
  8. I've been asked to post this on behalf of a friend. I've seen the bike myself so with confidence, I can confirm the description as accurate. Size Small, Matt black. Built up from a selection of new parts and used infrequently since then. The bikes in very good condition and has seen little use, all components are in good order. There's a mixture of kit some nice bits in there. The only item worn is the saddle (Charge Spoon) which was attacked by the cat. Fork; 140mm Revelation (Stanchions unmarked) Bars; Husselfelt Stem; Race Face Wheels; Deore on Mavic 317 Rear Mech; Shimano SLX Front Mech; Deore Chainset; Deore Brakes; Stroker Shifters ; LX Bike located in Glasgow city centre. Contact helloitslynnatgmaildotcom Priced to sell @ £495 Cheers.
  9. Well done to all participants today, it always seems to be a cracking day for this particular event! Fantastically close finish. Congrats Phil, only the thickness of a fiver separating you and Lord Richard of Montague at the end.

    New bike

If it were mine I'd have to remove the decals from the wheels for that 'pro' look. They clash horribly with the frame, its enough to put you off your badgers milk latte. Devils in the detail. It looks great btw.
  11. I've completed the survey. I'd like to thank the club for giving us, the members the chance to have our say in the future development of the kit.
  12. Like many others, itching to do the accreditation and have a go!
  13. So its that time of year again. The Scottish Cyclocross Series 2012 kicks off on Sunday 7th October - Callendar Park, Falkirk I take it the usual suspects will be in attendance?
  14. That's fine, what's the damage William?
  15. Ah, cheers Paul. Thats just a bit early for me unfortunately. I will plough my own furrow tomorrow then.
  16. I realise that the vast majority will be gallivanting off the west coast on the Isle of Bute., but I wondered if anyone was out for a mainland run tomorrow? Im aiming for a lunchtime departure 50 or so miles, steady pace. Any takers?
  17. Well done to everyone who turned out tonight. Special mention in dispatches to Greig for timekeeping on what was a truly foul evening. As if it were needed, there is no doubt that Autumn is upon us. Aye, thanks are due to yourself Iain for doing the heavy lifting tonight, modest as usual. FTR, I paid my dues.
  18. Cheers for posting those pictures HVR. Its a real throwback to a different epoch, its great to see retro images like that. I have a vested interest in this, given I have purchased, over the last few years, well over a dozen items of club kit totaling hundreds of pounds. I make no secret of the fact that I don't like the current incarnation of kit. I too believed that whilst taking part in open events its difficult to tell the difference between Lomond Roads guys and our lot. Incidentally, I agree with with the the suggestion to adopt an existing design to be tailored to our spec. This was adopted with some panache by Bath CC. They used the iconic Once strip replacing the ONCE chest graphic with BATH you get the idea. My personal preference would be to use the first generation Leopard Trek kit as a base with our colors incorporated. Black shorts with white lettering too. Less is more. Good for cyclo x. Its a nightmare getting the mud out of those banana man shorts. Perhaps three options could be proposed, and shot down or approved as applicable?
  19. Id be interested in doing another of the 'Monuments' too. LBL is a good shout, I had rather hoped to do the 'Hell of the North' at some point too, as if the pave in Flanders wasn't arduous enough!
