  1. This is it, the last confined event of the 2013 season. We are still in discussions about a road closure, but regardless we will run the senior event and we can have over 12s as well. Will update ASAP. Suggest we meet at 10:00 for sign on and then have first rider off at 10:30. So a bit of time to practice, warm up etc. This also allows time for people to come and ride, then go out on a club run. I will be there to timekeep, but we need at least one more timekeeper and preferably a few marshals and holder-uppers. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.
  2. This is a good wee guide from British Cycling. http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/insightzone/features/article/izn20130802-What-to-expect-on-a-club-run-0?utm_medium=email&utm_source=British+Cycling&utm_campaign=2987410_British+Cycling+Member+News+22nd+August+2013&utm_content=Clubrun&dm_i=BM6,1S13M,1GFFMW,6CGR6,1
  3. Al, the 6secs came from your wheelie at the start! Also meant to say that £12 collected for the club funds.
  4. Last mid week confined event of the season and last chance for a timed practice on the Elliston Hill before the championship. Due to impending darkness it needs to be an 18:20 meet for an 18:30 start at the bottom of the Elliston Hill, just outside Howwood. Might be worth some lights for the way home as well! I should be able to timekeep again.
  5. What a great turn out for a mid week hill climb, with 8 riders and 3 timekeepers/holders. Some good times as well (which have been checked and slightly corrected). 1 - Fergus 1:46 2 - John C 1:51 3 - Alan H 2:06 4 - Dave C 2:16 5 - Alan T 2:28 6 - Emma 2:39 7 - Graham 2:42 8 - Carol 3:31 Well done all. Thanks to Jann for being top timekeeper and Campbell for holding and pushing off. Cheers, R
  6. I am selling my unused Rotor Power Cranks, as the “minor†injury I got two days before buying them has turned into a long term injury with no end in sight. The cranks were bought and fitted to my TT bike in January 2013, but have never been used (not even a spin on the turbo). The cranks are ANT+ compatible and they did pair with my Garmin. The following kit is on offer as a whole package, although I would consider splitting: · 175mm Rotor Power Cranks (http://www.rotoruk.co.uk/power.html) · “53†and “39†tooth elliptical Rotor Q Rings (http://www.rotoruk.co.uk/qrings.html) · 2 x Rotor BSA 30 bottom brackets (One has been fitted to TT bike and the one for my road bike has never been out of the box). (http://www.rotoruk.co.uk/bsa30.html) The cranks are designed for BB30 bottom brackets, but the BSA 30 bottom brackets allow them to be used on standard BB frames. I have the original packaging and guides/instructions for all but one of the bottom brackets, as well as the Rotor crank tool and Rotor chainring bolts. The whole lot currently retails for £1,700, but I am looking for £1,400. Please PM me or email me (muirheadramsay at hotmail dot com) for further details.
  7. Tuesday 24th Sept is the first of the Hill Climbs at Elliston (near Howwood) and the second-last mid-week event of the 2013 season. As the nights are really getting dark now, riders will need to be off at 18:30, so meet at 18:20. Here is a link to the start - http://www.johnstone-wheelers.co.uk/events/event/1/2el6bsbkioc7svd064rlq20v90 I hope to make it along to timekeep.
  8. Right, here are the times from today, although the championship results are based on handicap times, so everyone will need to wait until the dance to find out who the winners are. 1 - Alan T & Elaine M - 19:12 2 - Elaine S & Greg S - 20:51 3 - Carol C & Dave C - 21:05 4 - David T & Campbell - DNF (David didnae feel so good! - hope you are better David) AL also had a spin and did a 15:59. £27 collected. Couple of photos below (thankfully I'm better at time keeping than photography).
  9. I will be at the 2-up Champs on Sunday morning for anyone that has still to return trophies. Thanks, R
  10. This is the penultimate confined championship of the 2013 season. The event is run on the Georgetown road. A 09:30 start should allow plenty of time to go for a run after, so suggest meeting at 09:15. I hope to be there, so I can timekeep.
  11. All, Due to the Bute weekend, there have been a few requests to move the 2-up champs. It is pencilled in for next Sunday (22nd), but we could move it to either Thursday 19th or Thursday 26th. Can everyone please post up their thoughts/votes for which date we do. (it is worth noting that if we do a week night it will need to be an 18:30 start, as it is getting a bit darker). Let me know what you think. R
  12. This is the last chance to get some practice in with your 2-up partner before the champs (see separate post about proposed date change for champs). Meet at 18:30 for an 18:45 start on Tuesday 17th. Timekeeper required please.
  13. Yeah, I have used Pro Hire in Puerto Pollenca and they are good. Best to book in advance, as Majorca can be very busy. Although I think they do have a lot of bikes (their titanium bikes look lovely!). R
