  1. welcome back kenny,,,, will be there
  2. sorry, but some left and right turn errors in previous script, and also believe bill carried on up through houston village with greg david and allan. brain must have been frazzled witrh the early summer heat
  3. Off at nine with david, john, stephen, greg, bill and ian,.....to lochwinnoch via track then up johns hill on b786 to south newton cut off. a great wee road with good surface to join b788 and up to west dougliehill rd then over to auchenbothie road.Much jostling on those hills but as i was never at the front or even in the flying trio, i cannot say who was leading , but young greg was flying (must be that cadet camp stuff that's doin it) . stephen and john along with david put in some great efforts while bill and I played a sweeping roll should anyone fall back. left turn onto port glasgow rd and then right onto Cloak rd(white post rd)to the t junct turning right towards south end of Finlaytone estate. right turn and onto gleddoch house ....still no cafe stops left turn onto bishopton rd and to the georgetown rd to houston where ian bill stephen and john turned right towards johnstone while the remainder now including allan who caught up with the bunch at houston end of georgetown rd, carried on via houston village presumably to the clubrooms.??or was it a covert cafe stop ???? ...great run in brill weather with stunning views and great company,, thanks all.
  4. hoping for a wee group any size, to cover perhaps thirty or so need to watch finish time...... returning to clubrooms for no later than 13.00hrs..
  5. robert sharp will probably have the correct answer for the wind being so strong and cold and perpetual etc,, but remembering from days of old, i believe beans have a lot to do with it , along with global warming of course.!! looking forward to next sun
  6. what a run ! from look of weather early on thought emmmm.snow, snow, and more snow, despite protestations from family, headed of to club rooms.. there waiting in red flash gear was john,,raring to go. a quick chat and resume' of route suggested, with several get out and stay dry options, when we were joined by asima.( with nearly late apologies). two's company but now three ,,,,,we had a bunch. off into the sun shine yep we got the best weather poss,, apart from a severely strong headwind that stayed on the nose whatever direction we turned,,,???track to lochwinnoch to glengarnock over hills and skirted south of kilbirnie onto largs road,, headwind all the way.. even doon haylie brae flat oot at 25 mph.... when the foot came off the gas, rolling speed dropped to 17 mph..!!! hard work that stuff and now feeling deserving of a cafe stop..ones wish was granted.Point to note, as we were coming out of our howf , sure we observed the 09.30's rolling into an eatery across the road, just in case of mistaken id, they may not have been ours but.....?? From largs up the Brisbane Glen road , now a really good surface for 90% of the way. Loch Thom, took a right through trees to save time and carefully negotiated the off road track to Gryffe reservoirs therafter a left on locwinnoch road and right to long fast rolling hilly section, wind now at our backs, wow!! onto cycle track west of kilmacolm then spritely dash home.. fab weather, fab company, have learned from today , the only way to keep red flash in check is to avoid all hills.. like our kenny macd.. show him a hill and he's like a dug wi a bone.. thanks guys,,,,,,and galls...
  7. ken, will be at end of rd 08.40 ish. otherwise see you at clubrooms.......ian.
  8. talking to colin earlier today, he may join us and has sown seeds of thought to rerturn via the brisbane glen road to loch thom etc.. but this is negotiable in the normal democratic fashion. if forecast holds true, snow chains may be an asset.

  15. kenny you must be 'avin a larff. a distance of approx 81 miles on one sitting, ,is still a bit beyond my power transmission system (legs) .. not for me just yet.. on the same grounds have had to rethink my 'event calendar' for 2008 and will probably give the caledonia a miss. Re slow al's misshap , should have kept the winter tread slippers on for a couple of extra weeks, must try and get him to wear a helmet, both on and off the bike..get well soon Al.
  16. who's up for it sunday, a happy bunch, if the legs are still ok after the saturation of skye and all points north west ? , ..slow al and i flew the club flag in renfrewshire last sat in the absence of all the cafe stop regulars, although the track was well populated with cyclists from all over..how big a bunch can we muster this sunday ?
