    Photo's

Photo's from the Senior Hillclimb Championship now up loaded. Just go to Gallery and select the approporiate folder. Some images have not turned out great thanks to the uploading software and as usual it has cropped most pictures more than I would have liked (doesn't seem to like portrait photo's). Anybody interested in a copy of the originals can PM we with their email details and I will forward on. Ramsay - considering using one of the pictures of you for a competition and titling it "Game Face" Jets pictures to follow on their site between today and tomorrow Colin

  10. "We just need to copy those on the italian trip and find ourselves a belgian bar to do our planning in. " http://www.brelbarrestaurant.com/ Colin
  11. This one might suit my (powerful) build a bit better than the Italy trip, although I think I would be remis to consider the climbs easier just because they are shorter Circumstance allowing I might be up for this. Over to you Mr Mulholland Colin
  12. Hi James, I have done plenty of dark rides, and intend to do more this year. I use an Exposure Enduro Turbo which has 4 settings: Flashing - lasts forever Low - up to 8 hours High - up to 4 hours Turbo - up to 2 hours Light is plenty good on high for the back roads around Houston, Kilmacolm, Bridge of Weir etc with downhill speeds recorded in excess of 25mph Turbo makes the neds on the cycle track stand back (must be confusing, a rapidly approaching light bright enough to be a motorbike but no noise ) Have never had a battery run out on me but a previous version did cut out completely on the back road over by Kilmacolm golf club (but only because I had dropped it from a height the day before ). Made me appreciate just how much light it was pumping out. Reflection can be a problem when it is wet as the light tends to bounce off the road surface making speeds a bit lower. Added bonus of the exposure lights is that they have a self contained battery (no wires). There are newer versions than the one I have with the MAXXD being the latest (I think). Can be pricey but well worth the money if you are going to be out in the dark regularly enough. I know that Alan McLean runs with Lupines so he will undoubtely fill you in on their qualities. Important note: don't neglect the quality of your rear light. If riding in traffic you can be lost if its not bright enough. Remember legally you have to have a constant light (supplemented with flashers if you want) and must have a rear mounted reflector (I think its between 300 - 900mm from the ground). Hope this helps. Colin
  13. Alternatively you could just have burned his eyes out with your light Power to the people (cyclists that is) Colin
  14. "to go collecting wild mushrooms in a wood near Aberfeldy" Ah, ha.........the secret to Bens success revealed Am now off to bag me some magic mushrooms in the hope of delivering some decent performances next year Or maybe I'll just end up in Dykebar Colin
  15. Spot on Duncan, but you only had to go back a couple of posts, not all the way back to the original (which seems was posted years ago ) Have given some thought to introducing the Tour of Bejing into the mix but given the short time to the start and the lack of familiarity with the parcours I have decided that the last race of our season will indeed be Lombardy There has been mention previously of triple points to ensure tension right to the end so here goes - triple points will be awarded for accurate prediction of the winner only. Now, you can hedge your bets and go for Gilbert, or, go out on a limb a bit and choose another name in the hope that everybody else sticks with the relatively sure bet. You decide Race takes place on 15th October so entries required by 23.59 on the 14th (or thereabouts ) Colin
  16. But Ken, I'm sure that was you i saw on the track between BOW and Brookfield yesterday at about 4 pm Colin
  17. I'm sure you will tear up the track big man. Allez, Allez, Allez. Moan the Joansin. Colin
  18. Duncan, I look forward to hearing the outcome from the CAS sometime in 2013 Billy, Good luck with that......they are all too busy getting paid rediculous amounts of money to determine just what degree of curvature should a banana have before its no longer a banana Colin
  19. Duncan, You forgot: F old age and senile means the memorys not that good anymore Colin
  20. Double points for accurate place predictions only. Believe it or not I was swithering between EBH and Greipel. Went with EBH to hedge my bets just incase the uphill Sprint was too much for Greipel. Should have had more faith Lombardy next with a bonus announcment shortly. Colin

  23. Hello and welcome, On the subject of trade teams, I personally don't follow one in particular, however do lend my support under the following conditions: 1. Any team riding TIME frames (I have one the same as Voekler used during his first stint in yellow, and as ridden to at least 1 WC by Tom Boonen. Fantastic piece of kit); 2. Any team with a Brit in it; 3. Any rider that dares to be a bit different in their approach to winning (eg Hushovd, Gilbert, Voekler et al. See Ben Greenwoods column in this months Pro Cycling mag); 4. Any rider I have picked in our predictions comp (if you follow racing closely why not join in next year) Colin
  24. Double points for Martin in 1st place (normally 12 points now 24 - see one of my previous Worlds posts) Colin
