    Curry Night

Getting to that time again where the cravings for lager and curry are growing So far we've got a couple of proposals for dates Fiday 11th / Saturday 12th November Friday 17th November Any other suggestions?
  4. We might still be waiting on Bob Sharp developing the photies of the 2006 edition from his pin-hole camera but plans are already underway for the 2007 edition Sunday 5th August 2007 is the date for your diaries. Those organising the Bealach na Ba have obviously anticpated this date and organised their event for 4 weeks later so there's no excuse not to ride them both There will likely be a wee change for 2007. In a break with tradition the ride will not follow the A82 Loch Lomond-side and A83 Rest and Be Thankful. Instead, it will probably be straight down to Western Ferries at Gourock for the short crossing to Dunoon. Of course the benefit of going straight to Dunoon means there's more time to ride around the Cowal Pensinsula on decent roads with little or no traffic The final route has yet to be finalised but expect names like Loch Tarsan, Loch Striven, Glendaruel, Strachur, Loch Eck to feature. There might even be a few other names like Tighnabruaich, Otter Ferry and Ardentinny thrown in before heading back over on the Western Ferries and up the road to Erskine More details in the coming weeks KennyS
  5. Tuesday nights for me KennyS
  6. Well it seems the seven week training programme that Martin set me has worked Anyone at the hill climb last week or at the club on Tuesday night wouldn't have failed to notice that I'm just about in top condition ahead of the weekend Unfortunately, as the top athletes and Dougie will know, there's a thin line between peak condition and susceptibility to illness and the flu has kicked in forcing me to pull out of the trip Given the above I’ve decided to forget the training, increase the consumption of beer, wine and curry in the hope that I’ll be able to get out on the bike again soon Leaving myself open here but can you let me know if I owe anything due to the cancellation. Enjoy the weekend guys
  7. Taking advantage of the upward drafts from the cars and trucks on the nearby bypass I plan to soar like an eagle to the top Somewhere under 5mins will do for me See you there Kenny
  8. Anyone else in the club planning to ride this? Kenny
  9. I should be there too, Jim Kenny

  13. Congratulations to the both of you. I'm proud, I'm sure like all in the club, to be able to say that I know an Olympic and World Champion Fantastic Kenny
  14. Should have also mentioned that this is the last confined TT before the 2-Up Club Championship which will be held next week. The weather is brightening up for this evening What else would you be doing if you're not flying up and down the Georgetown on someone elses wheel
  15. Just a reminder to all that the 2-Up Club Championship is being run next week on the Georgetown Road. Hoping to get the first riders off at 18:30 sharp, as the nights are fair drawing in, so please be on time. Especially if you do not yet have a partner Please post below if you intend riding. If you don't have a partner yet then you've got a week to sort one out or I'm sure one can be found on the night. The event is handicapped so you don't necessarily have to be fastest on the night Cheers, Kenny
  16. Who is planning to ride this evening? Do we have a volunteer for time keeping? I plan to be there shortly before 18:15 Kenny
  17. Count me in Cheers, Kenny
  18. Cheers, Dougie Youth Hostel's fine with me Kenny
  19. Drove along the Georgetown earlier. Large puddles between start / finish and the bends and again between Reilly Road and Houston. Lot of spray coming off road as well from vehicles Going to give tonight a miss Kenny
  20. Do we have a decision yet as to when and where? Does someone have a preference for the first weekend because he can't fit mudguards on his King? Any more folk interested in going? You can be sure of a good run on the bike and a fun time doing it. I'm especially looking for slower folks who'll drag me round and push me up the hills

  22. Isn't Moss Street still cobbled? Chung. You could combine your evening by having a good few beers at the curry house and then clamber up the cobbles on your hands and knees on your way to the The Bull
  23. Simon, A welcome relief for yourself and your family after what must have been a nightmare period of uncertainty and frustration over the last year. With regards to Convener for the Curry Night I think I must defer to Martin and Dougie on the grounds of me being much better looking plus I'm away with work over the next few days and won't get back until 10pm Friday night Might be able to join you for a late beer with suitcase in tow Cheers, Kenny
  24. Tonight's event was held over a sporting distance of 10 miles plus one lamp post due to the Timekeeper forgetting where the finish was Seemingly hasn't done too many 10s this year 7 riders started on a dry but threatening night. A slight tailwind on the way out strengthened to present more of a challenge at the turn although all made it back dry. According to a wet Mr Gunson the Renfrew Bunch didn't have as much luck round the Clune and the Bunch was split by during a thunder storm and very heavy rain Back to the TT 1st Iain Manson 22m 07s 2nd Jim Daly 23m 53s 3rd Campbell Crombie 25m 02s Full results David Raymond 34m48s John Robertson 31m 03s Mike Ferguson 25m 47s Jim Daly 23m 53s Campbell Crombie 25m 02s Ian Manson 22m 07s TK KennyS
