    showers

all, I know that this is a bit sad, especially when you read all the great reports about fantanstic rides you've all been doing this weekend, but my incapacity has kept me off the bike and limited to doing up the club room - I have a couple of questions for you before i go any further with the showers. The current plan is to have two shower cubicles attached to the relative Changing Rooms in what was the old Gents shower area(we have already broken through to provide access from the ladies) :- a) does anybody want showers or would ever use them or should the room be used as general changing area? would you prefer the two cubicles to be one shower and one changing for common use (guys - there would be lockable doors so no "mistakes" could happen! ) or a shower in each ? Any thoughts would be welcome before we spend any more time and money. Cheers, Property pete ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For all your computer needs, spares & repairs - PC Express, Love Street, Paisley 0141-561-0323 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2. The interior work is progressing nicely and hopefully you will notice the difference. The ladies toilet has now been changed, thanks to Harry, but is still out of action for the time being until the final connections have been made. Harry Blane and Tony Carrigan turned up this morning and made good progess with the sanding, so hopefully we should be able to start painting soon. Major jobs still to be sorted are:- 1) the shower cubicles need to be finished ie. the dividing wall and the opening into the Ladies Changing room. 2) the plumbing and electrics for the showers 3) the fitting of the Hot air driers and plug points in both Changing Rooms 4) the Notice Board needs to put up again with at least 6 fixings - there is a drill/rawlplugs and probaly some screws in the crate I am away down south at a conference until Wed. so if anybody would like to take on the above I would be grateful. On a wider point regarding funding for other work and equipment, it would be useful if we could get all the interested parties together to establish a coordinated Development Plan so that we can demonstrate how and what we hope to achieve by doing all this work - what about next Friday evening? 4. Guys, I will be down 6.30 - 7.30 on Friday and Sat am. Apart from the Shower work, the main work is paintwork preparation ie. sanding down of all the paintwork in the Changing Rooms/Toilets, and the doors (both sides). There is sandpaper in the kitchen, but I will buy some more. If you have an electrical orbital sander, please bring it as it will save a lot of time and damaged fingers! I have some papering to finish in the ladies and Harry will be installing the new toilet next week some time. Its looking good on the inside, but once Kenny has got the gate sorted, we will need to organise a painting party for the exterior. The best opportunity to advertise "the club" will be at the Don Smith, so we need to be looking good for then. Thanks agin Pete ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For all your computer needs, spares & repairs - PC Express, Love Street, Paisley 0141-561-0323 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  16. Kenny, Re our conversation last week, sorry but I will not be able to attend. Pete ps. if there is still time to change the clothing order again, can you reduce mine from XXL to XL!
  17. I am one of the General Committee members and I have been tasked to liase with Webmaster Ian and arrange for details of all the race/training routes to be provided on the site. We are not sure how we are going to do this at the moment, possibly by link to Multimap.com or there is some new software out that also provides the route profile as well. I will keep you informed. In the meantime I will be compiling a list of routes and would appreciate your assistance when putting the commentary together. Pete

  21. I feel that I must write in defence of El Presidenti. The day started as usual at the Bird with everyone trotting out their excuses for why they would not be riding well that day - mine was that I had been suffering from a pain in the neck (Judi says that I have always been so what's new!) and had been off the bike(and off work for the whole of the TdF!), Neil- Polka Dot- Mcdougall,it was the only top that was clean (he was to suffer horribly later!) and of course Kenny, who was still suffering form a VIRAL DISORDER and would of course be taking it easy. Everything was well as we set off for deepest Renfrewshire and the rolling hills around Houston and Kilmacolm. At this point something changed and I am sure that we must have moved into some strange Doctor Who type time warp - certainly we went into light speed and the countryside consisted of continuous hors category climbs with no apparent descents. Whilst Kenny still outwardly looked the same ie. I,m off form and my bikes broke (I've only got 56x11working!) his alter ego of Obergruppenfurher Jan McArmrich seemed to take over and he was frequently heard to mutter the likes of "kein gewin ohne scharz" and "scottische stiefmutterchen"(I'll leave you to work them out) - he won every prime and every hill climb(of course only he knew where they were) and left us all grovelling. Perhaps its was Neils polka dot jersey that had inspired him, but as was only a short run we apparently went for "quality" - if you know what I mean- the Spanish Inquisition would have been like a summer picnic by comparison. Anyway, I think that we all survived,(except perhaps Rickhard McVirenque who was last seen walking up a 1in3!) and I'm sure that Kenny has now been released from the phasor beam that temporarily kidnapped him, so I hope that my explanation will be taken into account next time the ICI meets and clemency will prevail. It's nice to know that nothing has changed while I have been away!
