  1. On 11th. October I will be in sunny Hamilton , while you are getting fat eating pasta and warm beer. Hamilton Ontario that is where I will be riding the Tour of the wineyards with Steve Baur ex Tour de France rider. Its part of my World championship trip. So I will think of you when I meet all the superstars of the cyling world and some of the JWCC group who are attending. Monty & Rita are going and Alan & Sharon King as well
  2. The only good things that came out of Italy are :- Campagnolo , Colnago , Chianti ,and Cipo oh and Guesepi Brunneti  now Holland thats a diferent story
  3. A run to Killcregan and a sail ? when I did that run we rode round the penisula twice headed up to Arrochar and back , before riding the club confineds. Ask Kenny Macdonald ? I remember pushing him up the Whistlefield  Would love to join you but I am taking part in some grass track racing up north , in between tossing the caber etc. Enjoy your wee run wimps
  4. One pound fifty pence in funny money  Well done to Katrina Hair in retaining her Scottish RR title. Took a wee run round circuit yesterday and saw a strong Johnstone bunch out supporting her. Pity more people didnt come out to support the girls. Heard big Les Muir has been joining your younger guys on a regular basis, is he coming home to the Johnstone? Might join you on one of the Saturday leisure runs sounds like I could win the gallop in that one. ps why does your bunches always look so uncoordinated. Dont guys have club jerseys?
  5. Stevie /Johan are you twins ? the same guy? or brothers? Trouble with you young whippersnappers is you all look the same when wearing those helmet thingies  See you have won the chocolates series , so must be a newcomer. Watch out for a piece on how ,why and what the series is all about. Its inventor Jim Kennovin is working on it as we speak. Rumour has it the fattest man ate the original trophy, or was it all the pies? my memory aint as good as it used to be
  6. Now thats what I call a real run , if only they stopped for a proper drum up I would think about taking part. This Crombie guy does he have a beard? most of these crazy Audaxy types do , is it to catch the slavers in? Hats off to him a man after my own heart , roon the moon and back , ye canny whack it.
  7. Mr Blom Kenny Mac indeed If I couldnt beat that fat poser  , I would give up the bike. He likes to talk about cycling , I do my talking on the bike  I may not be a wheeler at present but have been in the past , and have many spies in the camp  If the club keeps prospering the way it is at present I might even rejoin and come out and show you all a thing or two  Is the subscription still thirty bob? as my granny used to say :- stop greetin and get oan with it !! a wee bit pain never hurt anyone.
  8. Shouldnt he be called "Mussolini" after all he's a fat dictator. How come he always gets to pick the route? In my day the club captain picked the route and controlled the bunch, if you dared pass him you got severe grief  Wait ah minute , isnt that what this Macdonald guy is trying to do I notice he wasnt out today with the real men
  9. Following several complaints to the UCI , Kenny MacDonald has been banned from riding with the Saturday bunch for a period of 3 months. He also incured a 10 euro fine from the governing body. He was charged with bringing the normaly sedate bunch into a state of exhaustion. Peter Bennell , Peter Abraham , Neil Mcdougall and Aileen Mcglynn all signed the complaint stating that they were coerced into climbing hills of the Hors category , without the use of triple rings. In his defence MacDonald stated :- I thought that this was a normal sedate Saturday run, and cannot see what all the fuss is about. His ban starts from next Saturday so it should be safe for riders to turn up at Bird in Hand , without having to bring a triple ring. ps In my day we didnt have any gears , a 68 fixed was good enough to get up any hills !!!
