With regards to my own crash, I have to accept a good slice of blame ownnership... there was a crash at the back of the bunch so when the call came out to stop I may have eased on the brakes a bit sharply, presuming that the riders behind who had called out had already began to slow down and stop... someone like myself who has been cycling for a years should know that you can never presume anything while on a bike... Hello all, Thought I would extend an invitation to anyone who would like to come along to our wedding reception on Thursday 7th July at 8pm at the Dalmeny Park Hotel in Barrhead. The Dalmeny Park is on the outskirts of Barrhead- approaching along the Irvine road, its on your left hand side soon after you pass neilston cemetary. Alternatively, approaching from the other end of Barrhead, its close to Tesco- go up the hill and take the right hand fork (ie NOT the neilston one) and its on your right in a matter of moments. If anyone thinks they can make it, send me a private message even if you're not 100% sure and I'll increase the catering accordingly. So far we have 70-80 guests but theres plenty room for more. There will be a buffet, a ceilidh band, and later a disco. Cheers!! Stephen L

It would be good to know if there will be runs of different abilities and the distances of them. Last sat was my first time exercising again for about a month- I always find the reliabilities really motivating but I wouldn't want to hold people back if they have to wait all the time!! Yup, Candice and I both enjoyed ourselves too. I even won something! An even bigger surprise was finding out that I had a not so long lost 2nd cousin when George told me he'd discovered that our grannies were sisters... so what happened to my share of the cycling genes?! Have just seen this mesge as haven't really checked the bunch properly for ages. I have an SCU license but on that whole weekend Candice has relatives up from england so I'll be shackled with that. I haven't really raced much at all this year- there are other license holders out there who are hard core racers but who haven't replied to this yet... where are they???. Yeah, thanks to Kenny esp for his impromptu announcement!! Candice and I both enjoyed the night, we left a little early as she has been a little under the weather of late (no she's NOT pregnant!!!) and being quiet types we slipped out without making a fuss, hope no offence was taken. There's no end to my talents Kenny... just wish cycling was one of 'em!!! I suppose I have to confess to being an "under the thumb" bloke like George when it comes to getting my DIY done... only without the pink romper suit. Am being treated to a hol in Gran Canaria in two weeks for all my hard work so well worth it... and there wont be a bike in sight!!. Hi Dougie 25th is not the school week- that starts on the 11th. Us teachers have our holidays emblazoned in our minds and we never forget them (some might say we do well not to considering there are so many!!!) Hi Kenny The bootrack was invaluable to me at the time and much appreciated 'cause I was driving around in a fiat panda back then (no jokes please!) but I got shot of that car over 4 years ago. I do remember giving it to someone else in the club ages and ages ago, could have been Davie but not really sure, but whoever I gave it to didn't give me it back!!. Moved house nearly 2 years ago so if still had it I would have unearthed it so sorry def don't have it!!!! Cheers Stephen L PS- .... Jim White?.... PPS- since am on here, Daryl, Paul and myself enjoyed the APR today. The wind made it hard, Paul nabbed about 13th or 14th I think, there was no bunch left as all had fragmented, riders finishing in dribs and drabs. I finished bout 20 secs after, 2 places down. Daryl a few mins after that- said his 3 week beer diet had made him suffer!!
