Cheers Kenny I often see a crazy guy on the Georgetown in the morning and at night, with very little lights, he is O.K from behind but the smallest, flashing, daftest wee light on the front, he was even riding through some of the worse rain i have ever seen last with the same level of lighting and to top it all, still no helmet!! and usually an ipod!!! any ideas?? I have a found a guy down south selling Livestrong Bands, until now i have bought about thirty from him, the price is £3, He pays the LAF $1 for the cancer charity and the rest of the money goes to "Children With Brain Tumour Charity" he doesn't even charge a handling charge!!! Hi Scott Good point on the Power Testing, I was totally ignorant to power testing, I just got the yearly test down the clubrooms and that was that, but recently i have invested in a Powertap power meter and link up with Cycling/training peaks software i am totally hooked, (That much, that i cant wait to download the info onto the computer after workout that i normally end up with a very wet computer) the info that is produced is still a bit over my head (which isn't really that hard) but the info is past to Mark and it then becomes a very valuable tool, he can then tell ,exactly how I am doing and what i need to do or not to do.The other good thing which i was told and didn't realise is that if you want to ride at level 1-2-3-4-5 then you have to wait until your pulse meter catches up (which normally takes about a minute) until you get to your desired heartrate but with power it is instant you bike the wattage and ride to that level straight away, which is handy if you are doing intervals. The only Bad points that i have heard is, Power meters dont like the Scottish winter (But i use mine on the Turbo) and you cant really tell lies any more, you have now got a spy in the camp. I use the Cateye CS1000 and the power difference is night and day, i thought that i was going well until you find out the truth, but you are right it should be used as a guide. I have been fortunate enough to see Marks powerpoint presentation (I think Kat has been Involved as well), Mark has put together a great night which other clubs have benefitted from already. And remember its FREE (some of the other Top Coaches sell tickets for there knowledge). As far as the tests go, I am now tested every 6-8 weeks (Yes, its Madness i know!!!) Mark likes his torture machine!!, we should all try and be tested 3-4 times a season if possible, It might be an idea to try and book up some more dates throughout the year. TAL- Good Club tops but the shorts were very poor PRO VISION- sadly i was one of the members to push the pro vision clothing to the club but the club clothing is nowhere near the same standard as you buy off the shelf. Like Paul, the Alexa is good but expensive. I really like the Nalini stuff again the quality will cost you. Why?, Are you redoing your wardrobe?, after all that weight loss, I hear your are back to your racing weight??, your supposed to put weight on when you get married!! like the rest of us!! For those of you that don't already know, I have had the "Pleasure" of working with Mark for the past month and will be working with him for the forseeable future, Mark has spent very little time with me and already i have realised that i haven't been training properly for many years!!, i am now able to focus on training in a whole new way, "all i did before was want to ride the bike as hard as i could", but i have learned in a small time that, "that is not what it's all about."
