    Mon 30th

A boggy type bunch leaving BOW traffic lights at 0930 Monday for anyone interested
  2. Great to see so many JWCC for different parts of the run today. Darryl, Galeb, James, Andy and Alan were all present at sections on the route. We had singled up through Wemyss Bay due to line of traffic, I rolled through and suddenly me Andy and Alan were way off the front. Andy and Alan were up for putting the hammer down, I was a bit more conservative thinking we might not want to poke the bears behind. However the bears were indeed poked, Gregg and Richie came flying past a km later and all hell let loose for the first balls out habble from Wemyss Bay to Largs of the winter. A similar performance on the W Kilbride - Ardrossan road in the cross tail wind. My day finished with a very civilised ride and chat with Doc Alan from Beith to Lochwinnoch.
  3. Andy You riding up coast or inland - I'll be at loch 0920 if you're heading this way
  4. Just to mention there is a regular Renfrew bunch heading as far as Ardrossan roundabout tomorrow then up to Dalry etc
  5. The Galeb Gallop is always so much fun. In a screaming legs sort of way. Made even more interesting with the addition of Gregg and Richie. Good to see Colin, Jan and Andy out today.
  6. Unlucky Jan. Was thick pea soup from Kilmalcolm to Gourock then fabulous sunshine to W Kilbride and back to Kilbirnie then pea soup again. Excellent 3 up with Colin and Eric from Gourock to BB where we had delightful tea and scones and an impromptu visit from Davy and his dug. More of same after our elevenses round the traditional route via W Kilbride drag. Merry Christmas all
  7. Just back from a birthday party at Bishopton. Freezing fog and very low visibility which does not look like its going anywhere soon. However was out today and by the time I got up the hill to the 30 sign going out of Kilbirnie it was a brilliant sparkly sunny day and no fog at coast. As an aside the views of Arran were breathtaking. Will keep an eye on thread, suggestion of meeting at Kilmacolm cross (which I think will be out the freezing fog valley) for a run round to BB?
  8. Floating an idea to see if we can get a JWCC cadre for a good thrash at the track on Saturday afternoon with the miserable weather forecast. Anyone ? If a few are up for it we would need to get moving swiftly on the booking front. Billy - can you find out if there might be any tyre police on duty Saturday !! I have a new one but not much chance of fitting before Saturday.
  9. The bunch is in full flow, despite the weather, which turned out ok, a good working group of 12 today. First puncture of year went to me on W Kilbride drag - just when I was about to attack as well
  10. smiddy 10.15 for sure, feel free to ride in to Renfrew if you so wish
  11. Bogs tomorrow, I’ll b Houston 0950
  12. Hey Billy, looking like there could be a boggers bunch the morrra, so don't think I'll book track you boggin?
  13. With it looking like the Severe Weather Protocol will be activated on Saturday, and Sunday may just be plain sh*&e, who would be up for a track blast. The radical bit is the 8am time. Suggest decision Saturday morning latest when the Sunday weather is clearer, I don't think this session will fill up too quickly due to the time!
  14. Very unusual bogs bunch for me today - had stomach pains on run in to Largs, so much so that I did not even challenge Archibald when he went for the sprint and frankly I'd rather die first !!!! Thought - ok 10 mins rest at bogs and be fine. Nope, riding out of Largs almost had to stop with a stitch type pain. Saw Billy heading up the healy and joined him. Struggled to hold his wheel but he was very generous with his banter which basically kept me going to Kilbirnie and then made it home (and that is a genuine thanks to Billy by the way George, hard to believe I know) Hope the Ultras didn't get too utterly drenched on way home!
  15. Sound like we have Ian, Jan, me, Billy for this sesh on Tuesday. Marc ? Stevie - were you tempted?
  16. I will pass Houston 0945 as normal to avoid Charlie
  17. Good fun tonight with me Stevie and Sam in C and Cedric in A. Stevie 4th and me 5th in scratch, Sam had a touch of the dreaded flesh eating man flu and departed after a couple of races, Stevie and I scored points in points race but not enough to scare leaderboard, then I got 4th in devil which was very frustrating as I made a rookie error and thought there were 3 of us left and we were on the lap before the final sprint with one guy rolling round before pulling off, so cruised over line and got eliminated to end up 4th.
  18. I have just booked both sessions, 8 spaces left
  19. Anyone for Derny double session next Tuesday at 6pm?
  20. Me, next week is pursuits night then no track league till January.
  21. just sayin like, I somehow thought the definition would include climbing god, sprint king etc, but alas, no... bison. a large, wild animal, similar to a cow but having a larger head and hairy shoulders, found esp. in North America
