2023 Subscriptions George Posted January 6, 2015 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted January 6, 2015 Fed up of punctures this past few weeks so considering the nuclear option of buying Schwalbe marathon plus tyres. They look bombproof but probably like riding with the brakes on. Has anyone used them or can anyone recommend good tyres for this time of year? Guest EPCC
George Vitoria Pave good rolling resistance easy on and off good puncture resistance Cons expensive
Richie Cross
I've used Gatorskins for past winters which have been fine. They have the hard shell version as well. Some say the wet grip isn't as great although I've not noticed. Still got my GP4000S on so far and only got a flat a few weeks ago due to an unseen pothole. This is obviously based on me doing less miles than everyone else! Both tyres in 25mm as well.
2023 Subscriptions George Posted January 6, 2015 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted January 6, 2015 Plumped for durano cos they were cheapest. Will likely offset my short term penny pinching against copious inner tube purchases over the winter.
