DavidR
Brief details, more to follow as needed: An “as-new†Litespeed Firenze, ridden only once on the road (10 miles) and less than 24 hrs total on the bike trainer. I have realised I will not get back to road riding in the way I used to and it is a shame for such a nice bike to be sitting in my attic on the trainer. It needs to be ridden by someone who will appreciate what titanium (and especially Litespeed) has to offer. A buttery smooth ride, and a frame material and geometry that suits long hours in the saddle. I have a 15-year old second-hand Litespeed titanium mountain bike and I don’t see me ever wanting to replace it. The Firenze is Size 53 cm (I think) –it would probably best fit someone 5'7" to 5'10" (I am 5'8"). I used to ride a classic 55cm Colnago and the fit and size of this bike is more like that 55cm bike than a 53cm. It has a traditional (not compact) frame geometry. Made and bought as a special order in the US from Colorado Cyclist, kitted out with all the right components. As stated, if I get responses I am happy to provide more detail and can take any specific photos requested, but in general: Easton EC90SL Carbon fork Easton Circuit wheels FSA seatpost, stem/headset About 5 cm of carbon risers, for a more upright ride, but easily cut down for someone who wants a more stretched out ride (better this than the other way). Shimano Ultegra gears, double chainring. I can check the gearing if enough interest I am posting this on several club sites and will put on eBay when I can get around to it. I'm in no hurry to sell as I don't need the money urgently. I plan to use the money to buy a more suitable (commuter) bike for myself to go with the mountain bike that I use most of the time. Although it is second-hand, it is as good as new because it simply has hardly been ridden. Open to offers – this is a beautiful bike and offers an opportunity to buy an “as-new†bike at a second-hand price. It has no dings, scuffs, scratches, hardly a smudge (maybe some dust!) You cannot get a titanium bike in new condition, made by the premier manufacturer, with high end Shimano parts, for less than £2,000. I will consider reasonable offers above £1,000. I have found examples of similar bikes available online, and have pasted some below: http://www.fatbirds....-bike-2013.aspx (complete bike, £2,500) http://www.ebay.co.u...=item19d85a6f46 (frame only, over £1,300) http://www.bikeattac...-t3-frame-2013/ (frame only, £2,000) Most comparable Litespeed road bikes if bought new would also need to be shipped from the US. For example: http://www.ebay.co.u...d=111003987782 (Complete bike, £2,500 + international postage and packing) – the Tuscany was the next level frame up from the Firenze. If you post a response and don’t get a reply, feel free to send me an email (not sure if that’s possible via the forum, but if so, please contact me that way). Dave. DavidR
PM sent Simon: I got your PM and will try to get the information for you today if possible (long work day) - if you are in Milngavie, I am only a 5-minute drive from you and you could also come around and ride it on the trainer if you want to get a feel for the geometry. Dave. p.s. I have attached a photo in case it's any help to anyone.
