Hi,

I'll be taking a carbon bike on the Mallorca trip in April. Can anyone advise if they use a cardboard bike box, what kind of packaging materials they use and whether its sufficient for the baggage handlers. I've usually taken a hardshell bikebox (scicon), but that wont be available to me this time.

Cheers, Scott

Hi Scott,

When we went to Italy last year, a couple of the guys had their bikes covered in bubble wrap/pipe lagging and then in a box and they were fine.

We had a mixture and all bikes arrived unscathed.

I'm hiring a Bike Box Alan this time so I have a padded bag you can borrow.

Google Tifosi XL if you want to check it out.

Cheers

Hi Richie. Thanks for the offer, I'd like to borrow the bag and will combine that with Jannza's recommendation.

Cheers, Scott
