Guest
Is it possible to have a campag chainset running with a shimano chain/front mech/rear mech and cassette? This is probably a daft question. I'm daft.
2023 Subscriptions David Thomson Posted May 16, 2012 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted May 16, 2012 George, As long as the chainset fits with the BB then it will be fine. I run campag levers with a Shimano/Sram chainset, cassete, mechs set up on my winter bike and its no problem. David
2023 Subscriptions Ramsay Posted May 16, 2012 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted May 16, 2012 George, Not sure abouyt your actual combination, but I used to have shimano cranks and front mech running with everything else campag, and it was fine. Now all campag of course. Cheers, R

Guest
I'm building a TT bike & fancy one of the classic steel campag record chainsets. Want to keep shimano gears as I might have occasion to swap out the deep section Wheels with my road bike. Cheers, George
2023 Subscriptions Ramsay Posted May 16, 2012 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted May 16, 2012 I use a deep section wheel that you can swap the freehub in a matter of minutes. This is how I convinced Elaine to let me buy it, so she could use it for triathlons.......however, I've still not actually ever changed it! Anyway, that is another option if you don't already have the wheels.
Guest
My wife isn't a cyclist so I can't employ that tactic I'm leaning towards planet x 50 front/110 rear. Reports have been favourable Cheers, George
