Committee Alan McLean Posted June 1, 2008 Author Committee Report Share Posted June 1, 2008 Two early birds today. Hot sunshine from 0630. Kilmacolm, Lochwinnoch, Barrmill, Kilbirnie, Largs, Fairlie, Moor road, Dalry then through and off back to Lochwinnoch to drop off Paul, then Johnshill, Kilmacolm. Back by 0930 for second breakfast with 85k in our legs. Paul has been taking climbing tips from Sella and left me cooking on the Fairlie Moor Road, it is really steep from the coast side. He coasted up with a 39/25 combo while I sweated, di luca-like, up the horrid steep ramps. Almost as bad as the Mortirolo, I'm sure. Great views of Arran and the Clyde. The pointy sisters of Ben More and Stobinnien were clearly visible to the north. Early starts are the new black. A
2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted June 1, 2008 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted June 1, 2008 I've had many great days on a bike but those few hours this morning were just about as good as it gets. Comaprable to anywhere in the world on a quiet Sunday morning on the back roads. If only Scotland could get this weather consistently..................... but then everyone would be here !! Thanks for suggesting it Alan - and all the best to Alan and Duncan at the Grand Fondo next week PMcD
