  1. How about a run to the windfarm if dry. Clubrooms 9 .15am. Miller Street Howwood, Lugton,Dunlop,Stewarton,Fenwick, cyclelane next to old A77 road and cut off to cafe stop at Whitelees Visitor Centre A steady climb on the way up to the windfarm but a great descent to Newton Mearns and down through Barrhead on the way back. Distance is approx 45miles and suitable for newbies and oldies. If cloud cover is low we could plan another destination as i have been to the cafe and there is nothing to see except mist !!   2. Looks like heavy rain forecast for this Sunday , so probably won't be out, but if anyone else is feeling brave, please post up. Thinking of Whitelees wind farm for next week if dry. Dave
  3. Boyd, Linda, Mia, Alan and myself left clubrooms at 9.30 and headed to Kilwinning as per route except kept on Blair Road to Kilwinning. Coffee and scones taken in Tournament Cafe and then returned via Auchentiber Road, Barmill and Greenacres with a tail wind all the way...great Good blast homeward and thanks to all. Dave
  4. Dry weather permitting, how about heading to Eglinton Park for coffee at Tournament Cafe again. 9.30am clubrooms Miller Street. Route : Cycle track to Kilburnie, industrial estate to Longbar, MOD road {new tarmac} to Blair Road, Jamieston Moss then into Kilwinning. Sensible pace and approx 45miles return.   5. Thanks to the guys and girls yesterday...what a great day out on the bike. First time going the Loch Striven road from west to east, which gives a very steep decent and great fun, trying to catch Bill T, downhill he is a flying machine. About 75 road miles on the clock for those who cycled down and back. Well done to all. Dave

  7. Further to last Sundays coffee stop it has been agreed that we will tackle the three ferries route this Sunday with various options. The ferries are; Wemyss Bay to Rothesay Rhubochach to Colintraive Hunters Quay to McInroys Point Plan is to catch the 10.30am Ferry at Wemyss Bay. if cycling from Miller Street: leave at 8.30 and arrange to pick up Bill T. at Western Ferry slip around 9.30am and then cycle round to Wemyss Bay. If catching train then time for 10.30am ferry. I will be at clubrooms for 8.30am depart to cycle down and if anyone does not want to take the ferry route, they are welcome to come with us as far as Wemyss Bay. Please post up if coming along. Dave
  8. six headed out today, Boyd, Morna, Linda, myself, newbie Jane and a welcome return by Bill Thomson. Made our way to Uplawmoor and then through farm roads to Dunlop meeting a curly haired poodle on route who froze in the middle of the road. Coffees and teas taken at the Dairy and then home via Barmill and down Bowfield. Thanks for the company guys and girls. We are proposing to do the three ferries route from Wemyss bay. Will post up later when work out the ferry times. Dave
  9. Going to Dunlop Dairy via following route: Leaving Clubrooms Miller St at 9.30am Beith Road to Auchenlodment Road to Lapwing Lodge. Sargentlaw Road to Uplawmoor to Fulwood to Stewarton to Dairy for coffee. Options for return route....approx 35-40miles+ depending on return. Please post up if coming oot. Dave
  10. Thanks to Ian for timekeeping and Alan for arranging the event for last night. Bit of a headwind on the hilly section, but on checking I set a PB by exactly two minutes and I had a cable tie on in case anyone wonders😄. Dave

  13. Not been here for a while. Clubrooms 9am Miller St. Head for Erskine Bridge via Moss Rd Linwood , Dumbarton via cycle track, Bonhill, back road to Croftamie to Drymen for coffee stop. Run of approx. 55miles but steady pace and fairly flat. Great scenery past Bonhill. Should be suitable for first timers if you can do 30miles solo you can do this with a bunch.. Please post up if coming Dave

  22. For anyone looking for 35-40miles , thinking for heading for Stewarton area, either along track via Kilburnie or up Bowfield hill. Plenty of coffee options near Stewarton or Dunlop area and may tag along with the intermediate group for a bit if they are heading this way. Clubrooms 9am Miller Street Dave
  23. Me, Al and Andy had a lumpy 35 miles over some local quiet roads with a coffee stop at Finestra cafe in Kilmacolm. No mechanicals or issues and thanks for the company guys. Dave

Thinking of leaving clubrooms at 9.30am to Georgetown Road, Red Smiddy, Bishopton through Dargavel Village, Old Greenock Road to Gleddoch hill over to West Glen Road to Kilmacolm. Auchenfoil loop and back to Kilmacolm for coffee stop. Please post if coming. You know you want to. Dave
  25. Not the intended route home as did not mean to go into Kilwinning, but hey it ended up a nice route on a good day for cycling. Think we had at least 12 at one point and thanks for the company. Dave
