  1. Sounds like a plan. If I'm not there, don't wait for me. I may be having a lie in.
  2. I'm definitely interested, but I won't be sure of my availability until Sunday morning. I had thought of joining the 30milers as far as Kilmacolm, and then heading to Lochwinnoch, Beith, Gateside, past Bowfield and home. No idea of the mileage on that and open to other suggestions. If I turn up.
  3. Thanks for timekeeping Greig. Well chuffed with my shiny new pb on my old commuter bike too.
  4. I really hope that's August. I'm up for another shot, hopefully without sightseeing volvos.
  5. Not from me, I'm working, and if I wasn't, I quite like the look of the intermediates run. If you've got a route in mind, post it up in the usual way.
  6. Thanks to Jann for timekeeping. I'm happy with my time as a first go.
  7. For those that turned up, thanks. Thomkirk, sorry mate, either we missed you or you missed us. Both of us left the clubhouse at about 9.15 and had quite a pleasant, although moist 38 miler in a shade over 3 hours, which is pretty decent, given that the other guy has never been out with a group. (Can 2 really be called a group?) Hopefully he'll be back next week. I however, will not be out next week as I will be working.
  8. Arghh! If you'd posted that earlier I might have gone for it. Oh well, there's always another week.
  9. Good question. Maybe about 20-25 past? We won't be hurrying.
  10. I think with the potential for a couple of newbies coming along, the shorter run is less likely to intimidate. One thing I forgot to mention though, 09:00 kickoff at the clubhouse. Another day for the haylie.
  11. How's about clubhouse, Bishopton, West Ferry, Port Glasgow, Kilmacolm, Lochwinnoch and back to Johnstone. Yes, that does include Clunie and Johnshill, but we can stop at Castle Semple for tea, coffee, oxygen or whatever. I reckon that's about 35 miles or so.
  12. That was quite hard, but I'm glad I took part. Thanks to Greig and David for their involvement. And yes, a genuine pb, 'cos it was my first time doing it. A few others in the same boat.
  13. Http://www.mapmyride.com/workout/333609591 I think that this is a link to the route, but if no one else can see it let me know.
  14. 13 set off and we were joined by Jack in Kilbirnie, making 14. We split into 2 groups 'cos the roads were a bit busy and we were strung out a bit more than is ideal. Jack picked up a huge puncture in Largs and had to bail out. The return trip was through Brisbane glen which got us out of the traffic but was quite hilly, back into Greenock then over to Kilmacolm (avoiding clunie:-mistake )and cycle track home. Managed to keep tight once we were into Greenock but the hills through Brisbane got us really strung out. I recorded 50.6 miles for the day, and it didn't get too warm. Thanks everyone for taking part.
  15. I think full water bottles and sun cream will be in order. We know that the guys at BB do refills too, so we will need to take advantage of that.
  16. The more the merrier. Clubhouse in Miller St. for 09.00. Unlucky with the chain, hope nothing else got damaged.
  17. Up for discussion on the day.
  18. Anyone fancy Largs via Kilbirnie on Sunday? We can either hit Clunie on the way back or take the longer route through Bishopton.

  20. Good effort guys. I'm deeply impressed.
  21. 90 km and total climb of over 4000 ft. Max elevation of 3084ft. from a starting point at 67 ft. In 30C. Great day out. Pics to follow. GJ is now so sweaty I don't even want to touch it anymore. See the village? Been there. GJ gets a well earned airing at 900 m. See the houses and the twisty roads? Going there. Quite a scary descent.
