  1. Hi, After a few months on the bench (due to a broken arm) I wouldn't mind coming along to a 30 mile run, is it a cae of just turning up at the appropriate time? Need to start shifting the considerable weight I have gained since the accident. Cheers Ronnie
  2. thanks for all your kind wishes, I gave up having a car about 16 months ago (wifey still has one) and use my bike for all journeys....not sure what I am going to do for the next few weeks!

    Ouch!

A cautionary tale from a new member... after about 7500 miles in the last year, I hit some black ice on the way into work today, resulting in a broken arm... so I guess my recent keenness to ride with the club will have to go on the back burner!
  4. Sorry was way below zero when I attempted to leave this morning...will just go for a solo once the sun come up a bit
  5. I'd like to come along, but the most I've cycled recently is about 35-40 miles, and I was a dead man walking afterwards...But I will be there, can't guarantee I'll make the full distance. so may have to bail. Cheers Ronnie
  6. Hi, what would the normal mileage be for one of these runs? Ronnie
  7. No, I am THE Ronnie Edgar of Lochwinnoch infamy , Ronnie Edgar of Howwood was a year younger than me, I am known to Ramsay, Paul McDonald (and Phil (I occasionally see him on Paisley Road West on my way home)) and Donald Scally.
  8. Oh dear that might rule me out because I am ugly and fall off a lot... Errr... ah fell aff ma bike ! anyway here hoping something will be arranged for sunday, I am keen to give my new bike a longish (non commuting) run
  9. Thanks for the welcome chaps, I am looking forward to my first 30miler, what are the normal kind of routes?
  10. Hi All and let me congratulate the admins on an excellent site. I have returned to cycling after a few years and am keen to get out and about at the weekends a bit more, I was wondering what the etiquette was with regards to coming along on one of the 30 mile runs, I am reasonably fit and have a "decent" bike (its no Massi or Pinarello), I was also wondering how to join up...I guess the instructions are on the site...but I am probably just being daft or unobservant. Is it just a case of PMing the guys in the message 2 below this one, then doing a bank transfer? Cheers Ronnie
