  1. Right that's me paid via bank transfer with jodyc as the reference ðŸ‘ðŸ‘👠Please cancel the heavies 😳😳😳 Jody
  2. That sounds a brutal crash Charlie, hope the collar bone heals quickly. Sorry I couldn't make it out again today, would have liked a few miles down the coast but work got in the way 😡 I don't think I'll make next weeks reliability either due to family commitments so if there is a Saturday run I could be well up for that ðŸ‘ðŸ‘👠Jody
  3. Early shift weekend for me so not going to make it out 😞😞😞 Hope you all have a good one and hope the roads aren't to icy 🂠Jody
  4. I should be good for this also, what is the preferred route or is it a decision in the morning ??? Jody
  5. Cool I'm up for it as long as the roads aren't like an ice rink. Not sure if you can edit the topic name, it may have to be Iain as he started it initially. Jody

    Advice on lights

Cheers Len, just had a look and the lights seem a pretty decent price and its not that dear to upgrade the battery ðŸ‘ðŸ‘👠Just need to drop the hints and leave the website open on the laptop and ipad for birthday ideas 😂😂😂 Jody
  8. Yeah raining here in Renfrew and just back in from walking the dog and the temp has dropped quite a bit. Got a feeling the roads will be like an ice rink in a few hours 😞. Hopefully they will be better for Sunday and we can try again then ðŸ‘ðŸ‘👠Jody
  9. I will keep an eye on this and hopefully manage to get out again. When the route is decided i can look for bail out options if the legs are anything like last week Spoke to Andy Jack in work the other day and he is also a possibility for Sat morning. Ritchie you don't start your Sat backshift till 4pm so you can make it along as well ðŸ‘ðŸ‘👠Jody
  10. Hello everyone, Thanks for the run yesterday and big thanks to Iain for organising. Due to the lack of miles I was feeling it quite a bit by Inverkip so bailed out and pretty much went in to the Red straight after. It was a pretty slow spin up the road(thanks to the head wind) but when I got back the Garmin had just short of 60 miles on it so was good to complete that. If shifts(and wee Harry) allow I'll be looking forward to getting out for a few more Saturday runs and hopefully hanging on for a bit longer. Cheers Jody
  11. Hopefully make it along, I'll see how the pace goes and how the legs hold up and bail out if nessecary. I'll check on here tomo morn to confirm its still on and we don't have a white blanket on the ground. Jody
  12. What kind of distance and average speed are you guys thinking. I may try and get tomo instead of Sunday but only been out a few times over the last wee while. Don't want to hold anyone up or be really struggling. If its the coast then im sure i couldl bail out if nessecary. Jody

Looking for £45. Thanks

    Advice on lights

Thanks for the reply Len, If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay and where did you buy it from ??? Been googling them a fair bit and apart from the magicshine website(quite a bit dearer) I can't find any site that will let you pick a battery. Jody
  16. Went for the Bontrager Hardcase out of club sponsors Dooley's and it was 19.99 right enough. Put it on and tried it out this afternoon and seemed to cope ok. Thanks for the advice guys Jody
  17. Hey guys, Was just about to leave the house and the snow started here so giving it a miss. Jody
  18. Cheers Greg, I was waiting for some comments about the distance what with it being a 30 milers thread, but having read some of the distances covered at the end of last year I thought I'd check. Bike is in Dooley's getting chainset replaced so hopefully pick it up before Sat and finally get out for a cycle. Jody

    Advice on lights

Thanks Len, I think that's it decided ill need to leave the laptop and iPad open on the Magicshine website and see if the good lady will act on some extremely subtle hints :-) What's this about a different battery, is this something else I need to consider now ??? Jody
  20. Greg/Kay Do you have a route in mind and what distance. Plan to be out for the first run in what seems like a life time if I get my chainset replaced in time (pedal arm fell off on A82 the other night on my way to work) Anyhow I'll hopefullyake it out to get dropped somewhere for a slow pedal home :-0 Jody
  21. Thanks for the reply guys, Ramsay/Ian I like the look of the Bontrager and may give them a go. Seems like a pretty decent price as well. Billy the Ribble site said the frame and muddies I have won't accept a tire bigger than a 23. I know it's really fine margins but don't want to order one and find that it will be rubbing. Richie with all the pot holes on Kilbowie road on the way to the office not sure I'll risk the gatorskins Thanks again guys just need to find where it's the cheapest and find somewhere local to price match Jody

    Advice on lights

Thanks Kenny, I'll need to look in to these lights if you recommend it. Do they fix securely enough to the bars and how long is the charging time ??? Sorry for all the questions Jody
  23. Hello again a bit more advice required on tires this time. I have been using Specialized Armadillo all condition tires throughout the winter for the past couple of years. The problem is that the tread has completely peeled off the rear tire exposing the cords. This has really put me off buying the specialized again as it has certainly struck me as manufacturing defect. Can anyone reccomend a decent winter tire that offers pretty good grip and puncture protection for a fairly decent price. Thanks Jody

    Advice on lights

Hello all hope you all had a good time over the festivities. I'm looking for some advice on lights. Not been out on the bike as much as I would have liked, didn't realise how much time the wee fella would take up. The most I'm really using the bike is for commuting, due to this I'm cycling on some roads through Erskine, old Greenock etc that have no street lighting whatsoever when its pitch black. I have a standard LED on the front but was thinking of making the leap into rechargeable lights for a bit more visibility for both the road and me. I have had a look online and there seems so many lights covering all price ranges. I found these and were wondering if anyone had them or new if they were any good http://www.swinnertoncycles.co.uk/accessories-c1/lights-c62/front-c63/tumble-fall-pro-1200-lumen-light-set-p28820 http://www.swinnertoncycles.co.uk/accessories-c1/lights-c62/front-c63/tumble-fall-pro-1600-lumen-lightset-p28849 I don't really want to break the bank when it comes to buying the lights but I have a birthday coming up that might give someone an idea of what to get me and after all when it comes to safety I don't mind paying that wee bit more within reason. Ps sorry if there is already about this but not really had a chance to get on the forum much lately nevermind search through all the old threads. Any help advice would be much appreciated. Jody
  25. Hope you enjoyed the show Kenny and got good Brownie points
