  1. Hi, Does anyone have any idea what this will be like (Sunday 17th)? I have not found any You Tube clips of previous races. Anyone been on site to have a look? I bought a new tyre for the front of the MTB but I think it may be too tame for cyclocross. Any comments? I wanted a fairly narrow tyre so chose B'Twin tyre 26 x 1.75 at http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/b-twin-26 ... -3888639/# should I have gone for a more knobbly one? Now I have joined the Johnstone Wheelers I had better get a set of colours. Anyone got a top they could let me have? I don't suppose there will be any stock of these items. James
  2. Yes, I still have a smile on my face! Great fun.
  3. Hmm, Verrry interresting! Not sure I can make use of this now, but hopefully the info will be of use to others. James
  4. I have just purchased a bronze license as that is all that is required for the Plean race. The message from British Cycling says "We wish you a successful year of cycling!" so I guess my license will last a year. If you want to but one for the first time use the code SKYRIDE2 and you will get a 50% reduction. Hope that helps, James
  5. Hi, I have also entered the vets race. Hamish will be there too in the under 12s. I want to join British Cycling for the benefits such as insurance on the road, so may as well buy a race license, but which one do I go for, Race Gold or Race Silver Membership with a Full Racing Licence? Suggestions please. Thanks, James
  6. Thanks Kenny MTB working well now so will probably stick with it and see how I get on. Regards James
  7. Thanks Daryl. I hope to get one for less than £52 which seems to be the price of a new one from Amazon or eBay (not sure how much Dooleys or Parker's are selling their's for). I might even make one if I can get to see an original. Do you know if I can hire one? Regards James
  8. Hi, I would like to borrow or buy a rear derailleur alignment tool. If anyone can help me then please let me know. Don't need it for very long, but would be grateful for its use. Alternative suggestions welcome (polite and useful ones only please). Thanks James
  9. BB crank noise sorted. Praise God for Bicycle maintenance books! Not as terminal as I had feared.
  10. Hi I bought these red and black shoes on Thursday and found that they were too big - more like size 9! I have not had them out the house (or even paced the floor). Seemed ok in the shop although they were bought in a rush. Probably need a size 7 or 7.5 and would be happy to swop for shoes in good condition. Might sell if offered a good price for them, or will buy size 7 or 7.5 James
  11. Thanks Kenny, my mountain bike needs lots of TLC especially from a noisy BB. Time is running out to sort it. James.
  12. Hi I am looking to enter a few events this season to raise money for charity (Teen Challenge Strathclyde), and to keep fit. Complete novice I am afraid but need to start somewhere. Anything considered, not too expensive. Regards James
  13. Hi Martin If you are buying, might you also be selling? I am needing a cyclocross bike myself. Wanting to enter a few events to raise money for charity (Teen Challenge Strathclyde), and get fit. Not looking for anything too special. Regards James
  14. Hi Jim Would your bike suit cyclocross? I am looking to enter a few events this season to raise money for charity (Teen Challenge Strathclyde), and to keep fit? Complete novice I am afraid but need to start somewhere. Regards James
