Andy - are cycling up to the club from West Kilbride to meet us or will you intercept us somewhere? If so, our outbound route is Bowfield, Lugton, Dunlop, Stewarton, Kilmaurs, Crosshouse.
  2. Run down to Troon same route as last time - about 65 miles. Cafe stop at the Blueberry. Those wanting to do a few more miles can tack on a loop at the end (Barrhead or whatever). Miller street 09:30. Forecast is dry but strong SW wind so behind on the way back! RSVP

AKA - Paul's Birthday Run. going to be close to freezing so coast run anticlockwise return via West Kilbride/Dalry/Bowfield Cafestop -BB. 09:30 depart Miller Street. RSVP
  7. Weather not good now so will prob go out later for a few hrs as forecast is better.
  8. Will head for club for 9 30 and then decide how far to go.
  9. Alan - I have an old SRAM crankset which I was keeping for spares. The shaft was badly corroded. The big ring is OK if you want it. PM me if interested.
  10. We were bowling along at 20+ mph when Alan's bike suddenly flipped over and Mark flew over the top. I thought there would have been some serious injury. The resilience of youth (not you Mark!) Glad you are both OK - it looked really nasty from my position at the back. Apart from that it was a great run. Dry roads and virtually no wind.
  11. Andy, abt 11 30. Blueberry cafe
  12. By popular request a run down to Troon via: Bowfield, Lugton, Stewarton, Kilmaurs, Crosshouse, Troon, Irvine (Long Drive to avoid town centre), A736 ( 1 mile), Kilwinning Route 7 back to Kilbirnie, Track. Alternative finish via Greenacres/Bowfield. Distance about 65 miles - steady pace. R.S.V.P
  13. Lovely day for a ride. I endorse Alan's comment about the toffee banana cake, 80 miles in the bag and legs felt fine.
  14. aaargh... Paul, if I had had known you were turning back before Drymen i would have come out. Didn't fancy the full 90+ miles. Anyway did a solo 42 miles.
  15. Just back from hol and seriously needing to shed acquired kilos so I will be there!
  16. On my evening ride yesterday I saw a yellow cycle event warning sign still attached to a telegraph pole at corner 1.
  17. I'll be there. Can't remember the last time I was in the BB!

    Main bunch 31 Aug

Mark's route sounds OK to me.
  19. A good turnout of 13. Weather not too bad but it was bit of a slog back to Lochwinnoch into the wind. Still, legs OK and 96 miles in the bag at 17 mph average. Yes Al - Darryl did spend a lot of time at the front on the way back from the bridge!
  20. I'll be there. Wind can't be any worse than the gale I cycled through in Tour of the Borders last year
