  1. i am thinking of getting a tt bike however there are some questions that i dont have the answer to.

1 what is the difference between a tt bike and a tri bike

2 will the money spent on a specific tt bike make some sort of difference over my trek madone with aero bars and mavic wheels

3 size wise on tt bikes, are they the same as road bike, i am a 56, would that be my size on a tt bike

    iain

    Hi Iain,

really depends on what your plans are and your individual physique ( i.e how low can you go at the front without loosing power)

getting low at the front is great (Free Speed!!) but it doesnt always make you go fast.

I take on Ramsays point regards the sore neck, but that is only because his back and neck muscles are not used to the position, sadly i now feel more comfortable in the TT position than what i do on the hoods (how sad am I!!) that i struggle on a long run with my shoulders and back (or maybe thats just my age)

    Cheers Sean.

  2. Sorry for being a bit Vague,

I am in the process of upgrading my winter tourer/training bike, at the moment i have a Ridley Triton alloy with carbon, size medium, with 105/Ultegra throughout and Fulcrum wheels.

i am possibly going to buy a new Bike? Frameset? Groupset? etc. dont really know.

if anyone is looking for a winter bike or part bike and willing to discuss then let me know. might make up my mind for me.

    JWCC only please.

    Cheers

    Sean.

  4. Hi George,

Scotland used to have one until, a few years ago, Big Jim Cusick won it numerous times, (Wee Joe Wilson was the last winner i think) but it has not been run for some reason, probably traffic lights or new roads junctions on the course etc.

you will have to travel down south for a "12" somewhere nice and dry and probably warm.

i am sure the historians on the forum will give us all the actual dates and past winners on the scottish course soon enough.

    hope this helps.

    Cheers

    Sean.
