  1. Well folks as you see we have two spaces to fill for the Arran weekend. If anyone is interested please contact me as we really need to fill the rooms or I will have a shortfall of cash as I did not take deposits from people initially(might live to regret that one eh?).Those who have confirmed please if something does arise which means you are unable to go I ask that you either find a replacement or be kind enough to put something towards what I may have to pay as the rooms were booked in faith and am too late to cancel now.
  2. I would be interested in talking with Mark about setting up an annual programme, but not so much for another test as I found that although I was given quite a detailed printout I did not really get a thorough explanation as to what the figures meant and what to do to improve areas where maybe I was not so strong.I feel I benefited more from the evenings with Brian Smith who covered the basic set up of your bike and in general his racing experience.Mark is very knowledgeable and experienced too but I feel that for most of us we need him to start at the basics and work from there.
  3. Last year I organised an end of season trip to Arran whereby we cycled a few miles ,had a wee sail ,pedalled round Arran ,sat in a sauna ,drank a few beers ,found a bargain place to eat out ,drank even more beers ,laughed at the locals gettin awfy drunk ,slept for a wee while, big brekkie, pedalled again and then another wee sail, all at a rather small sum of money.Well it's on again and 12 hardy souls are on their way on the 9th October.Unfortunately I cannot open it up to everyone as numbers are limited and I can only get 3 rooms at a special price and everyone who went last year asked to be put down first.2people have still to confirm so if there is a space or two I will be looking for numbers.I will post if this is the case and first come first served.B&B and use of facilities cost 40 pounds each plus ferry and food and drink vouchers. We leave early saturday and return afternoon sunday.Confirmed attackers are: Dougie Da Rosa Scotty Donaldson The Blomster Big Jim Brogan : Ian the Manson Paulo Mechanico Darryl Mc Gunson Davie Mc Kellar Big Al Yeoman Steve Hickey Simon Simpson Marty Mullhooligan .(provisional).Update Soon.

  13. Well Sean seeing as it's plastic I think some super glue and a washing up liquid bottle should do the trick for wee Ally and his carrier!! Hope Suzanne gets lots of rest as there is bound to be some pile of dishes to be done by the time she gets home eh?!! Congratulations again Sean and Suzanne, and welcome to the world wee man.
  14. I would go if able to ride road race too.
  15. It certainly seems that the level of harrassment around Woodhall has come to a level at which the police need to take a more active role.If they are not told about these incidents and cannot catch these neds in action then the place has to be avoided before someone is killed.I know that Glengarnock is a much safer option Kenny but I do not think you would be able to encourage the amount of riders and the quality of rider to Glengarnock once a week never mind twice as logistically for most it is too far out. Most riders we get weekly are from Glasgow,Paisley area who would have to leave work early and arrive home too late if riding there and also the variety of terrain on circuit is no comparison to Bunch route.Aviding Woodhall completely is the only short term answer and recently we have been using the dual carrigeway to next roundabout then up Clune, but there are riders who always go the short cut as they do not want to be dropped, like what happens in a race, but if everyone agreed to re-group at top it would make for a more benificial training run for everyone.Thoughts?.
  16. Jim,once we know the address of our accomodation we will let you know and maybe you could ride up from below with our breakfast to save us making it!!!!!!!!.Hope to see you there.

  20. For the relatively short period of time I have been a member I have not come across a more friendly and happy member as Tom on the few occassions we spoke. It is a sad day when we lose someone whom we all respect, remember Tom with a smile, the one he always had whilst talking all things bikes.
  21. I read in Friday's Glasgow Herald that Jim has been picked to ride for Scotland in the Shay Elliot Memorial in Ireland soon.As a regular supporter of our club events and a thoroughly decent bloke I think this is great news for Jim and recognition of the hard work he puts in year in and out.Im sure you will join me in wishing him all the best for the race the next time you see him on the road.Full details of four man team on Braveheart site.
