Hi all,

I was at the WoSCA meeting on Monday night and got this info from Ali Ogg at the VC Astar. Get racing.

The Anderside Classic and WoSCA champs 7th June: call for riders and helpers

The 2015 Anderside Classic could be the last WoSCA championship now that SC West is here, so organiser Ali Ogg of VC Astar is looking to make it an event to remember.

The race is part of the Strathaven gala week and so will be started by the gala queen. The route is the traditional Anderside course: one lap of Drumclog circuit with gala day sprint entering Strathaven where commemorative plate and £100 is on offer then heads down to Galston over the transmitter climb then on through Sorn, Muirkirk back to Strathaven then to Darvel up the grave yard climb before heading back to Stathaven. There's a hefty prize fund, including a separate 3rd cat prize list with the first 3rd cat receiving £150.

If that's not enough then there's all the other gala day fun for the family: a model boat show, Strathaven children's railway, a raft race and barbecue at the brewers.

Bikes, barbecue, beer.

The race is open for entry now at https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/127481/The-Anderside-Classic

Alister is looking for helpers to run the event and asks for WoSCA member clubs to get in contact with him with details of volunteers for the event. Please contact [email protected] or on 07812145221.
