Stevie Blom Posted April 9, 2005 Report Share Posted April 9, 2005 OK...it's Ali here, checking in on behalf of our little Italian troop, alias, Kaz Lovatt, Stevie Blomie and Mr Grump Pants (aka Euan). So, it was indeed off to a super start, with all 4 of us making the flight this morning at some god awful hour (after one point five hours sleep)...sorry Kenny, we tried to get our athlete Stevie to bed sooner but he wis havin nun of it! So, hangover n all , the day has been somewhat interesting with the second flight starting with a police escort for an unsavoury character who allegedly really should have been on the flight as he would otherwise miss his urgent kidney transplant in Ancona (sorry, I meant to say liver)...Stevie n Kaz, of course, ended up sitting next to this man (he was arrested after giving abuse to (not Stevie) the air hostess . Anyway, to cut a long story short...we're now here and the status is this:- Grump pants is actually quite chirpy as he's had a wee red vino (or two) Kaz has already befreinded everyone here and now speaks fluent Italiany And Mr Blomie is already eyeing up the guides for a square go on the hills tomorrow! (PS Kenny, guess what, Stevie has given away yet another yellow band...does he really believe that this turns the chicks on?) I, however, have still got a hangover, that no one else has been suffering from (it's official, I am the light weight of the Italian booze brigade)! So, there we have it. Signing off until tomorrow night. Ali Bali Bee. PS tomorrow morning we're doing 100km and 1200m climbing before breakfast (fortunately breakfast is at 4.30 in the afternoon) PPS hey Kenny, the Sunday run is at the more civilised hour of 9.45am!
