Guest
The 1st words I ever uttered were "where is the nearest 12 hour time trial?" & ever since that day, my 21st birthday, I have always fancied riding one. Particularly if it went up and down the coast so I could use the The Bagel Basket as a feed station. Do they still exist? I saw the scottish national time trial championships for 10, 25, 50, 100 and the BAR posted on Braveheart and the BAR has a 12 hour "bit" to it so why no 12 hour championship? Has it just been omitted in error? Does anyone/any club organise/promote on in Scotland? Any info on this appreciated. Cheers, George. Sean Gray
Hi George, Scotland used to have one until, a few years ago, Big Jim Cusick won it numerous times, (Wee Joe Wilson was the last winner i think) but it has not been run for some reason, probably traffic lights or new roads junctions on the course etc. you will have to travel down south for a "12" somewhere nice and dry and probably warm. i am sure the historians on the forum will give us all the actual dates and past winners on the scottish course soon enough. hope this helps. Cheers Sean.
Guest
Hi Sean, I think we should organise a club confined 12 hour championship then. 12 hours up and down the Georgetown or the westferry-the only flat roads round here minus traffic lights
