Could we let all your cyclist pals know about the event, but remember that they should have the ability to complete whatever run that they choose to do. For more details contact Harry- 0141 889 7563 Cheers Sean P.S- Could Iain the webmaster put a temp notice on the website just to let the visitors know about the event. Members Kenny MacDonald
Century ride a great success 63 riders took part in todays event , which was held in very hot & humid conditions. Clubs taking part included :- Glasgow whls, Utd, Rc , couriers, , Edinburgh Rc , VC Astar , Cairngorm CC , Lanark Valley , Law whls , Inverclyde CRT ,Velo and a few independent riders. 19 riders from JWCC took part & completed course. Furthest travelled rider was Charles McTaggart from Pasadena California , his fourth visit to the the event. The following wind on the Rest led to a cracking pace by all ( well almost) with Davie Lang making it all the way to top in big ring ( in preparation for LVRC vets champs) with cafe at Innellan closed most opted to jump straight onto ferry and back up coast into headwind. They were greeted by Big H and his stupendous buffet where the icy drinks proved most popular. First riders were back at 2:30pm and Harry & helpers left Erskine hospital at 5:00 oclock. Sum collected so far is £441 with Darryl Gunson & Stu Dunbars entry fee to be added to this sum ( they arrived late & missed sign on )when they can get it to Big H. A huge thanks to Big H for organising a superb event including good weather. Any further donations welcomed so get the cash in asap. Broom wagon was driven superbly by Shazy who had a lonely drive as no one succumbed to the elements or fatigue. Only 2 reported punctures and no mishaps completed a great day oot. Kenny MacD and Martin Keir opted for a laughing group tour de backroads and completed a century of their own ( Km instead of miles )
Hertz Van Rental
I was fishing at McInroy's point on Sunday and counted around 30 of Glasgow CTC catching the 9 and 9.30 ferries, many of them on tandems. Might be an idea to try and lasso this lot in for next year? Also a good way of forging links etc? GG
