David J Posted May 18, 2008 Author Report Share Posted May 18, 2008 Chung, Mike and myself made-up the bunch this morning! Weather was great although slightly chilly. We headed down the cycle track to Kilbirnie then over to Largs. We then went up Brisbane Glen, although it was a tight squeeze between a JCB on one side and a very deep hole on the other. As Mike commented: who needs to pay £49 to ride on closed Pitlochry roads when thanks to Scottish Water you can ride Brisbane Glen traffic free. We then dropped down into Port Glasgow and I was dropped on the Kilmacolm Road climb! Mike was obviously feeling strong but he did mention that he had done some "hills" last weekend. We then headed back for home via Quarriers and BoW. I did 90km door-to-door so not bad for a come-back ride. All in all a great ride and Chung and Mike were great company - cheers!
