Members Kenny MacDonald
A nice flat run this week :- heading down track to the dirty wee port and then a meander round the back roads. No fancy multimaps here Normal service will be resumed next Sunday when Kenny S returns

Members Kenny MacDonald
Ah only 1 more 30 miler for me before the return of the other Kenny. This one was a bit flatter as promised well the last 15 of the 40 oops 30 miles. The farm watch showed plenty of sh*t covered roads and loads of pave to be enjoyed along with the leaves. So a magical tour of Linwood back roads was enjoyed as we headed to the acreage and a turn along the Georgetown ( the first time ) The leisure lanes of Renfrewshire drew us up thru Houston and towards kilmacolm where the washing board allowed young KOM MacD to stretch his legs and the others in group:- to quote X factor " in no particular order - Colin, James,Greg,Ken Macd , Kenny MacD , John, Davie R, and our checz mate Z. Young MacD was in frisky mode attacking on every uphill, the folly of youth his time would come Despite the obvious headwind the pace was brisk and good progress was made en route to the dirty wee Port ( which truly is a term of endearment going back to the early part of the 19th. century a wee bit of culture as well ) dropping down the Clune it looked like Kenny macD was getting soft untill we turned left and headed to the dreaded wall . Z was determined to show young james that the Checz were still a force to be reckoned with ( inspired by shouts of encouragenment from yours truly he manfully gave James a run for his money ) meanwhile an Emmerdale ( a classic episode ,the plane crash) took place behind as bodies were strewn across the countryside . A regroupment at top of Whin saw storm clouds approaching and Z headed off to Lochwinnoch as we dropped down to Greenock . Joy was short lived as the heavens opened and the rain was so bad it stung your eyes . We passed the CRT coming upo the hill well almost as a puncture delayed their progress an unfortunate occurence under such conditions. We singled out along the Greenock road due to various roadworks , the detour onto the old road allowed Kenny MacD to reccount stories of the old 10 course and its turn at the old rope works r/b Back on the new road Colin was despatched to the front to tow the bunch along to Bishopton cut off He stretched the bunch out as he enjoyed the tailwind assistance. The Bishie allowed Kenny MacD and Colin to show KOM how a couple of heavy weights can become rolleurs and blast up the draggy climbs They continued to apply pressure al the way to the Georgetown and the headwind section back towards Houston. Colin headed off early for 2 rolls and bacon and a hot shower halfway along Georgetown ( again in no particular order) whilst Kenny MacD kept pace high along Georgetown stretching the remaining groupetto out. The Braveheart express of Erskine alchoholics passed by with kenny S shouting words of encouragement , well I think thats what they were . The Houston posse dropped off leaving the 2 Macs and Davie R to maintain high pace all the way back to Johnstone. A cracking day out with hills, flat bits major rain and good banter in all the right proportions. Rider of the day :- everyone even me !! quote of the day :- how could you see going down the Whin in that rain ? reply I had my eyes closed 40 miles ( 30 if Kenny S is reading this) of Renfrewshire finest roads. ps keep watching for details of next weeks finale Kenny macD led run , clue it involves a ferry journey
