SCU Board Appointments

Posted: Thursday, December 18, 2003 (viewed 39 times)

By this time you will know that the members of the SCU wholeheartedly passed the SGM proposal to become a Company limited by guarantee and that we are now know as Scottish Cyclists’ Union, a company limited by guarentee, and intend trading as Scottish Cycling

This will safeguard every member from any litigious claim made against the Union.

Also at the AGM the initial board was elected and after the first Board meeting on 17th December, these Board members were tasked to create, monitor and provide feedback to and from the Board for their own particular sub committee.

The Board members and their responsibilities are listed below:

Ian Sinclair President

Jim Riach Executive Officer – Administration and Development

Jim Gunn Volunteers, Officials & Coaches -including Coaching, Event Officials &Volunteers

Alan King 8) Marketing & Communications -including Membership Benefits, Website, Corporate Image, Newsletters, Monthly E-mail Bulletin, Press Reports, Handbook, Post Board meeting Communiqués

Who's going to be a busy boy then  Hope you find some time to get out on the bike Alan

David Menzies Corporate Services including Financial Management, Sponsorship Registration, Legal Contracts, HR, AGM, Constitutional matters &ICT Systems)

Graeme McGinty Competitions including Road, Track, MTB, Cyclo-cross, BMX & Speedway

Mike Pooley Performance including Squad Affairs

Fiona Walker Development including Youth and Club Development

The above Board members will be contacting some members who they think may be able to help with the tasks of the individual sub committees, but not all the skills of our membership are known to the Board, so if you have the appropriate skills or knowledge that would suit one of these sub committee groups please do not wait to be contacted, JUST VOLUNTEER to HELP.

Now dont all rush at once :?

Good luck Alan I think you will need it , and before Gerry asks :- who is in charge of facilities strategy?
