  1. Hi, Sorry for starting another thread but I didn't want to be clogging up the order thread with questions etc....unless Jannza would prefer them there? As a club newbie and first time buyer...daft question, but are the Endura sizes as described? According to my 32" waist, I'd be getting a small pair of bibshorts but I don't think I've ever bought any bike gear in small! I'm 6ft tall as well so wondered how they would be in the leg? My Assos shorts are based on my height so I'm a large in those. Looking to get a s/s jersey so hopefully I can check sizes with folks on Sunday? Would I be able to order an Ultra Packable? Going back to shorts...I've read on the club info that it's club kit for confined events etc but do we have 'rules' as such for other times? I'm torn between wanting to fit in and look part of the club with club shorts but after eventually finding that Assos shorts are great for my behind (and obviously the cost of them!) I wouldn't want to confine them to my kit drawer....no offence intended regarding the club kit! Thanks
  2. Sounds like a great day. Really, really looking forward to getting out on my first JWCC run next week. Hope I won't let the side down by not being in JWCC kit?? Will my world champ or maillot jaune be ok??? * *don't worry...joking!
  3. Thanks. Had planned to come tonight but the weather may keep me in the garage!
  4. Hi folks, As I've only managed along to a couple of turbo sessions before the clubroom was cleared out, I wondered if they were still on every Tues and Thurs? I'd noticed that they were advertised on here before so if I don't see it here, do I take that as meaning it's not on? Thanks
  5. Hi, Did you get out? My day off as well but got the wee one so couldn't join you. Have to see about handing off to her auntie one day!!!
  6. when I was out in the car today (before the rain), I was thinking what a great day it would be to be out on the bike. And then I remembered my 2 1/2 year old in the back With working shifts and only having 2 weekends off in every five, I'm mightily jealous of everyone that gets out a lot in the week and the big gangs that I'm missing at the weekends It does make me wonder if I'll ever 'catch up' enough to go the distance on a good club run? Thanks to the Old Firm and work, I'll miss the 1st reliability trial (day off cancelled) and the 3rd (not allowed to take the day off) but will be along for the 2nd one! Roll on the lighter evenings so I can get out after earlies Moan over
  7. Thanks for the info Ramsay. Unless I get another day off cancelled, I'll make the 2nd one and I'll see about getting an early shift off for the 3rd. I guess the easiest place to start is the first group. Cheers
  8. Hi folks, What with being a club newbie and all (and one who is still waiting for work to allow me to make my club run debut!)....am I right in thinking the reliability runs increase with distance at each one? Had a look at previous posts and I gather that regardless of the distance, there will still be the groups of different speeds? Are they well attended? i.e...will I find myself in the slowest group on my own? Thought I'd start off there to see where I fit in. Hopefully make the 2nd one as thanks to the Old Firm game, I'll be working on my day off for the first run on Feb 6th
  9. I've been sitting in a car at work on the A82 near Dumbarton since 7.30am and commend the 7 or 8 cyclists I've seen go by in the wind and rain! Braver men/women than me!!
  10. Thanks guys, Greig...thanks but trying to be sensible and get rid of a cold. Chung...aye, I'll have to just get out and see how it goes! I've not been getting out as much as I'd like due to work/family...and letting those be excuses! My aim with joining the club was to get committed to getting out more. When I have been out, my average speed has been in the 16's but I'm only out for a couple of hours. Maybe because I'm on my own. When I get home I'm never tired so imagine I could go further. I tend to just 'go with the road' and let that dictate my speed rather than pushing it. My worry is that on the uphill drags....not steep as such...my speed will drop by 2 or 3mph where I imagine you guys would just charge along. I tell myself that I'd be ok protected in a group? Sunday is off for me. My wife flies to the US for a work training course! Looks like I'll be in the garage with Sufferfest DVD's more now that she's back to work. She works every evening from 7.30, so depending on her meetings, means if I get get to the clubroom on Tues or Thurs (we have a 2yr old as well) I'm in the same line of work as Kay so I'll have to take advantage of the weekends off when they come round. Cheers
  11. I was hoping to get my bike and turbo out the way this week but if not I'll come along and get it on Sat.....and help out.
  12. Hi folks, Wasn't sure if I should put my first post in another section? I've already met some of you at a couple of turbo sessions but just managed to get my forum account activated thanks to Ian. Had hoped to come on the run yesterday but a bad night thanks to my 2nd old and the onset of a cold put paid to that Out of curiosity, what was the time, distance cycled and ave speed from yesterday? Not sure I fit in at the moment. Was this the coast run to Largs and back via Kilbirnie? Thanks and see you soon. PS...I've already joined the club and wondered how I go about getting team kit?
