  1. I am keen to give this a go and there was talk on Tuesday night about arranging a practice session fairly soon.

Having one more space on my garage wall (hmmm ........could need a garage extension soon), I was thinking about buying a track bike that might double as a fixie for road use.

Thing is I know less about this than road bikes so any advice on sizing, frame types etc would be gratefully received.

Just post the times. I have not seen so many riders before on the Georgetown, so for one experience timekeeper it would have been extremely difficult if not impossible so frankly in the words of others don't sweat!

Chapeau for volunteering in the first place.

  4. Very sad news. I only met Jim a few times but was fortunate enough to be in Flanders with him.

A real gent and entertaining too. I fondly recall his tale of dropping Lance Armstrong on the Braes

RIP Jim with heartfelt condolences to his family.

  6. Ok so Tommy nae mates appears at the bus stop after fighting the gale down the Georgetown. Nobody about. Hung around till 7:05 and headed back home.

I should have realised it was not a good night when a motor cyclist played shoot the cyclist with a loose panier on Bishopton hill!

On the plus side I TT'd the second half on the Chocolate TT in 7:45 mins. Ok said gale was acting in my favour.

    But it still felt good!
