  1. It was a really good run today. We did the South Newton circuit again because we enjoyed it so much last week. Everyone gave the hills a good go and we finished with an impromptu "timetrial" down the Auchenbothie Road. I recall 14 riders today: The MacAuley twins, Lance Ferrari, a bronzed Paul C., Stevie, an in-form John(Fereneze), Greig, Mary, Lindsay, Brian, Johnny (plus BBQ), me and two new riders, Rory and John (both cracking bike riders!). The '30 milers' are evolving into a really good group and most, if not all of us, are making progress. On that subject, Brian and I are going to get out a couple of evenings each week to push ourselves on. Anyone else interested, let us know. I fancy an Argyll run next Sunday. Anyone else interested? Suggestion: Meet at McInroy Point for 9.45 Dunoon ferry. Hunter's Quay to Strachur (no tea room stop, or if we do I'll volunteer to watch the bikes - no, it's ok, I really don't mind!). Head along Loch Fyne and up the big hill at Caol Glen (A866) - a stoatir Brian, just the type of hill that you and I need! Down through Glendaruel to B836 (i.e. turn left). Climb over to Loch Striven (great descent and make sure your brakes are working - seriously!). Climb up to Loch Tarsan and down through Glen Lean back to Sandbank and the ferry. All yours for 47.7 miles! 3 tough hills, three great descents and doable for everybody in our group over the last two weeks. Willie
  2. I forgot! Stevie McFarlane is coming too!
  3. Hi guys, Johnny is coming tomorrow as well and a prospective new member John McLaughlin. I think that makes 8 in our bunch. W
  4. Well done guys - it looked amazing! OK Charlie, I owe you £10 for the charity for beating Billy. How many minutes under 10 hours, were you, for the rest? Honest now! Willie
  5. Hi Brian, Count me in. Say 9am athe club? Willie
  6. Hi mark, stevie and I will get you at clubhouse 9.30am. W
  7. Excellent Jan. I'll post the final list asap and then we can make the travel arrangements for the bus. Unfortunately, Kenny MacDonald can't make it now, but it's going to be a cracking weekend if the weather is like this! W
  8. Hi Richard, The payment arrangement is that I'll pay everything on my card and participants square me up on the weekend. Willie
  9. Alright Richard? The original 12 beds are used now, but I'll phone tomorrow and book another one. You're in! W
  10. My apologies Paul. I'll add you today. W
  11. Hi team, This is what I think the status is for the weekend. Please let me know if any of it is wrong asap, please. I hope you can read the spreadsheet! Iain MacAuley and his family have made their own arrangements with the hostel, so they are not on the list. That makes about 14 riders, assuming Jan can make it if her shifts allow. You will see that we still have one bed available on the Friday night and the bus is now full. Willie.
  12. Hi John, You can come on the bus for the Kinlochleven trip. W
  13. Hi John, That's great. Can't make it tonight - working. See you soon. W
  14. Thanks Greg/Tom. See all you guys at the 0945 ferry on Sunday. W
  15. Hi again, I just remembered. I think Matthew McCusker is coming too, but we have 9 seats on the bus, so no problem. We are a bit tight for 8 bikes in the luggage section, but we can take the wheels off one and it can go in the passenger section. We are definitely full now!!. See you guys Sunday. W
  16. Hi team, I would like to publish the final list of who is definitely going to Kinlochleven. Could the possibles and probables convert to definites (one way or another) as soon as possible please. I'll write out the final roll call on Monday based on the previous posts and when I get the updates. Willie.
  17. Hi Guys, That's Johnny, Charlie, Billy, Chung, Tom, Greg and me. We can squeeze 7 in. Tom and Greg, do you want a lift to the ferry or just a lift home? That's us full, so I look forward to Sunday. W
  18. Hi team, Just to confirm that Johnny and I are doing the round the coast route (56 miles) and we'll meet the stalwarts at the ferry. I'll take the school bus so we can take up to six riders and bikes. Charlie has booked a space on the way back, so we have three places left at the moment. First three to confirm, get them, either for a return trip or a lift back to Johnstone from the ferry. Looking forward to it. W
  19. Hi Charlie, I fancy doing that one with you guys. W
  20. I'm doing a turbo session beginning at 10. I think a run is out. I have Charlie's keys, so I can open up. W
  21. Ok. Will we start at 10 am then? W
  22. Do we want to do a turbo session as a back-up if the weather is still too bad? Kenny Mac gave me two new DVDs called "Sufferfest" if everyone has heard enough of Coach Troy! I have only briefly scanned them but they look interesting. W
  23. 9.30 depart and I'll think of something before Sunday. W
