Spendid bike of cycling with superb (while it lasted) weather, great company & sceenic route (that Glen Douglas is a killer), cheers Lesley & Donald our tour guide for the day.
The rain did managed to catch us, just on the Georgetown Road, so by the time I got back to the clubroom before 4pm, my "doggy bag" had turned into "soggy bag" damn...I was looking forward to tucking in as well
Excellent day out, looking forward to next week already.
Cheers

Welcome on board, Greg, see you on Sunday.

The first option of the Largs run will be about 4 & 1/2 hours cafe stop included, back at johnstone around 2pm ish?
Dennis's second option will probably be a bit longer, I think?
Not sure, what do you think Dennis?
But hay, David, remember what happened the last time we went on Crow Road run

Hi all,
Any route planned, Lesley?
If not may I suggest we take in some hills this Sunday, head down the coast to Largs via Loch Thom down Brisbane Glen, Cafe stop and up the Hailie Brae & back home.
Alternative suggestion welcome!
Weather looks to be O.K

What a smashing day, well done to Lesley our new captain for the 9.30 bunch
Great company, glorious weather & a 3, yes 3 hour cafe stop (that has to be a record?) for me as I let the rest of the gang tackle the Pike track while I digest the whole content of the Sunday Herald & several rounds of tea and cappacino.
Doing my domestiqe duty where I placed the food orders for the on coming troops and make sure there was enough chairs to go round....a duty which I'm all too happy to do again in future runs
Thanks Lesley, what's on for next week?
Cheers

Hi All,
I support the idea of what David is proposing in that both groups start at 9.00am, because for reasons he stated and also simply to start the ride earlier which means we get back earlier.
As David said, we (the 9.30 bunch) don't go out and give people a doing, (there's the Renfrew Bunch if you're into that sort of thing) we always regroup on top of every climb, and we definetly don't leave anybody behind.
By the way, David, the only time you seem to drop off a wee bit is the long climbs.......my solution is get a lighter frame...worked for me

Sounds great Lesley, go for it!
Richard, I'm sorry I could not come along last Sunday and the APR to get the DVD, should be out this Sunday, and hope to see you there. Thanks Mate

Hi all,
Should we just cancel the 9.30am bunch as from this Sunday 25th May onwards until further notice?
The reason I propose this is because due to various reasons there seem to be a lack of riders turning up for it, so I don't see the point of having this run anymore.
Yesterday, which was a splendid day for cycling we had only 3 riders for the 9.30am bunch, the week before I'm not sure if there was even anyone out, 4th May 4 riders, 27th April 1 rider (that was Mike) and 21st april 3 riders.

Hi Colin & Frank,

Good effort Colin & Frank...like Kenny said still early days yet...I'm sure you guys will be up there competing if you iron out the small details.
The thing with short cuts is it's surpose to save you time, not increase it.
You obviously are not doing it right...

Sorry to the 9.30am bunch, had to abandone going out at the very last minute due to illness...excuses excuses!
Sounds like I missed a great one as usual, looking forward to next week's DS, hopefully by then I'll have recovered.
By the way, how did the guys doing the TT do, Colin, Frank & Ramsey etc?

Hi all,
Will there be a 9.30am bunch?
Would there be sufficient number, last week we had 4 for the 9.30 lots, if the number is no greater, I think i'll join the 9.00am bunch if that's O.K.
David M, Donald & Leslie, Campbell, Mark W....... are you guys coming out to play?
Jim, I think Frank is doing the TT this Sunday.
Cheers

Duncan,
Can I just say that I was very impressed and suprise when I stare into the pot at the clubroom fearing the worst (Cabbage & sprouts....) and to find that it was a pot of lovely Chinese chicken & veg. Congee (mushed rice).
It taste lovely and even better than what I can do.
Usually, you would have it after recovering from an illness or in cold weather.....quite appropriate I think.
Talented bunch these cyclist, eh!
