  1. Charlie,

How about do it all again next week

Since a few of us (myself included) missed this one due to one reason or another (mine being not having the bike ride-able yet)

I quite fancy doing this route next week having not been over the water for a while.

    So, any takers?

    Cheers

  2. Hi jim,

I knew you would come in to this at some point about the crank brothers egg beater. Talk about a wide price range, they start from the basic cheap and heavy version at £28 and all the way up to the all singing and dancing full titanium at £280, that's what I call choice.

I have a pair myself on my mt bike, and I agree with jim about their performance. Top notch!

    Cheers

  3. Hi Iain,

How are you, good I hope.

As far as I know, there are Look delta pedals & Look Keo pedals, the delta ones are older style, and the newer Keo type are smaller and will only work properly with Keo cleats. The difference in colour refers to the "float" of the cleats (which basically means Black 0 float, Grey 4.5 degrees & Red 9 degrees, I think these refers to the degree you can move you feet before the cleat unclip the pedal, normally the Grey colour one is most used)

Anyway, you will need to find out what Look pedal type you have and get the cleats accordingly, easy!

Here's a link to wiggle for a keo pedal:

Just to confuse things a little, Look recently brought out new Keo 2 pedal series.

Hope that help and not further confuse you.

    Cheers

  4. Hi Charlie,

Any idea as to what the weather is like tomorrow?

If it's anything like today, then I really don't fancy going down to the coast with the ice and fog.

Anyway, will be down to the clubroom for a 9.15am start and we can decide what to do then.

    Cheers

  5. Hi Charlie,

Are you thinking of going down to Largs via the Hailie or Brisbane Glen?

    So, is it 9.00am then?

    Bit early, what about 9.15am?

    Please confirm!

    See you then

    Cheers

  6. Hi Colin,

Last time I was out by 1 month when I got the Radar ride date mixed up. But you bet me this time by being 2 months. Nice one!

    ;-)

Anyway, sound like a plan, will try and make it. Hope to be there on Sunday.

    Cheers

  7. Hi Mark,

The dhb carbon shoes are sold exclusively from Wiggle (Internet bike store) and I believe there (dhb) are a German brand.

The brands products (clothing & shoes) have been given very good reviews both by the magazines as well as the users. So they must be doing something right, thought I haven't tried any of them my self.

£90 is very reasonable for a pair of carbon sole road shoes, I think their no thrills designs and minimum marketing cost make them very competitive price.

    See you tomorrow

    Happy Shopping

  8. There we were 9.30am sitting in Dennis's car was Kenny C & myself, outside the club room debating what we should do while it was pouring down outside.

Did someone suggest we do the run in our car?

We were then joined by a rather wet but determined Bill T who was going out no matter what the weather was like. Then a bit late but rather relieved Big Al turned up a few minutes later thinking he had missed the bunch only to find 4 men in lycra sitting in a car with steamed up windees.:oops:

By that time the rain had stopped and looking good, so we decided to go for a run afterall. Quick assemble of bikes and we were off.

So, Bill T, Kenny C, Big Al, Dennis & myself headed down the track, towards Largs via the Harlie Brae. For those that have been out with the bunch recently, you'll know that this is the 3rd week in a roll that we have done the same route.

A cafe stop in Largs and where Bill shared with us his wee adventure up the Mount Ventoux back in June. After that a quick ascent over the Brisbane Glen, drop back to Port Glasgow, along the West ferry detour to Langbank and back to the club room with 54 miles on the clock.

The rain managed to stay away throughout the run, only a very strong head wind in parts, but that didn't matter cause of the good company.

Won't be out next week as doing the SkyRide in Glasgow with the wee-one.

See you all in 2 weeks time

  9. Hello there,

Seeing how quite a few of the Bunch regulars are either doing the Dooleys RT 25tt or making alternative run arrangements, would anyone fancy coming out for a run maybe as Martin suggest, over to Dunoon (if the weather allow) or other suggestion?

Would suggest an earlier start if doing the Dunoon run...say maybe 8.30 or 8.45am???

    Any takers?
