  3. i'm there already. got the new nigel slater cookbook, which has a recipe for each and every day of the year. so it doesn' t matter if it's april or october, guarantee the catering will be first class. btw, do you know how many arrowheads there are on the map between torridon and diabaig? no? only 5 doubles. and that's each way. in only 9 miles. who needs a triple?
  4. simon, thought you were only going to buy the wine in tarbert? or doe sthis mean you've changed plans and are joining us in johnstone? I've got a bottle, plus a corkscrew, in my bag cu tomorrow m
  5. hi there see you at the clubrooms at 10 to 8. Good weather forecast, no? brodick is expecting 29mph north westerlies and showers. keep yourself updated at http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=2316 cheers m
  6. Anyone still looking for a ticket for the social event of the year? I ordered mine so long ago that I forgot about it, and have booked up to go to skye the same week. Allan Miller tells me the do is a sell out, and tickets are in hot demand. Face value is £25, any bids? (Cash to go direct to the Braveheart fund, you can give them it on the night.) I thought I'd put the first offer here, and if there are no takers, to put it back to the Braveheart boys to resell. This way hopefully the fund can double its money. cheers martin

    Night oot!

agreed stevie: cracking night & well done to the ex-pres. this morning was a bit fuzzy right enough. head was loupin, so what better day to get 2 punctures on the way to the clubrooms? all fingers and thumbs trying to replace my tubes, so apologies if anyone was waiting for me there at 10:00. I did find liam rankine at the clubrooms when I eventualy did arrive, so he and I went for a spin down the track to glengarnock. only one more puncture, thanks to liam for the spare tube. see you about m ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For all your computer needs, spares & repairs - PC Express, Love Street, Paisley 0141-561-0323 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  14. A plea from the organisers: if you haven't yet paid for your tickets, can you please bring your chequebook on Saturday. This will make things much easier for us (no messing about for change etc) and stop me from mixing ticket money with kitty money and spending it all at the bar! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For all your computer needs, spares & repairs - PC Express, Love Street, Paisley 0141-561-0323 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    win prizes!

...at the presentation dance raffle on Saturday. A big ask for donations of prizes for the raffle on Saturday night. Just think of all those things left over from Xmas that you don't need now that you've started training again: bottles of bevvy, big boxes of quality street or how about unwanted gifts, like Phonak jerseys or Dura Ace gruppos.... Please either: bring your donations down to the clubrooms tomorrow night (tuesday), to the dance itself on Saturday, or give me a call on 0131 448 4542 to arrange something. All contributions, large or small, gratefully accepted. many thanks, martin ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For all your computer needs, spares & repairs - PC Express, Love Street, Paisley 0141-561-0323 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  19. ian how does this compare if you can break it down month on month? 21. The central heating type that is. Just been condemned as being unsafe. Anyone in the club know / can recommend a plumber or heating engineer, or I will have to keep riding the turbo to generate enough heat to keep everyone in the house warm? Drop me a pm if you have any ideas, please. many thanks, m ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For all your computer needs, spares & repairs - PC Express, Love Street, Paisley 0141-561-0323 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  23. agree with all the comments posted above. dougie's plush weekend is cracking and the combination of sauna and kronenburg is a lifesaver at auchrannie. however, what's to stop 2 trips in a year? my new sponsor caledonian-macbrayne would be delighted if we had lots of outings. So how about Simon's YMCA sorry SYHA weekend at the start of the year, say 1st weekend after the clocks go forward? the wee bar at the Lochranza hotel has a cracking selection of whisky (dimly remembered)... or treat it as a spring training camp if you're serious? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For all your computing needs, new machines, spares & repairs - the Yellow Computer Shop, Love Street, Paisley 0141-561-0323 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  24. i could have a go at lacing his drinks tho...
  25. Only 112 days to go to the social event of the year! What you said about last year: "another Great Wee Night of presentation of prizes and chat and mixing with everybody else" "Already looking forward to next year" "a magic night with great company and a good laugh." "Aghhh, my head is still sore " After the overwhelming success of last year's do at the clubrooms, it's time to go one bigger and one better this year in honour of some incredible champions who have made this a wonderful year for the JWCC. Paralympic Gold & Silver, World Masters Champions and records to boot, an RTTC 24 hour TT vets champion team plus all the other tremendous performances on the road, TT and track deserve a cracking night out. With all this to celebrate the clubrooms would be bursting at the seams, so we're going out to play! Put Saturday 15th January 2005 in your diary now! We'd like to find out what kind of an evening, or weekend, you and your wife / husband / bidie-in would like to have: 1. A night out at a local venue for dinner, drinking, dancing and prizegiving, with taxis in the wee small hours; 2. Make a weekend of it, staying over at a local-ish hotel, (eg Gantock in Gourock). This would have a Saturday / Sunday run built in to work up a thirst / work off the beer and leisure facilities for those who'd prefer a quieter start to their Sunday. This location would still allow those who don't want or can't stay over to make their way home after the do. 3. As 2, but further away, 'up country', such as Arrochar. More options for a run, but less convenient if you need to get home at 1:00 on a Sunday morning. Likely cost for B&B would be around £30, plus the cost of the do (which last year was £7 / £5 OAP's). Please cast your vote, chip in your tuppence worth with a reply, and please tell others who may not have access to "The bunch". Remember to say how many tickets you'd like. Once we've worked out likely demand we'll move to make firm bookings and start to take deposits. save up now, see you at the bar... Martin (alleged social convener)
