  1. Absolutely MENTAL!! The weather could not have been any worse, wind and rain all weekend, even snow on sunday morning. The mud was so bad we used 18 pairs of brake disc pads between us and got to the point where we had to run downhill as we were metal to metal on the brakes and unsafe. We finished 22nd out of 79, 4 man teams so quite pleased with that.Swore on sunday I would never do it again but time is a great healer and am already planning for next year, glutten for punishment eh?.

  2. Marty I never even noticed you in the photo,I was so dumbfounded by Michelle McManus's new look after her well publicised diet success!!!!!!,and after looking now I can only see a circus midget next to her!!!,where are you in all this?!!!!!

  3. Well I reckon I covered about 13000 mls at an average of about 39miles to the gallon!!!!!!,even hitting 148mph in an S-typeR on a track day with my work.Bikewise it was good fun, good to get back to the mountain bike.Sportivesre the way ahead for me as regards the road bike, good fun, easyish pace and good mileage on cracking fairly safe roads, good luck lads and lassies. 8-)

  4. I applied today, hope all goes well as I already have my accomodation booked!! My only slight concern is that after all the hype over last years events success is that we may have a rather large amount of the Racing Fraternity taking part turning it into a race rather than a Sportive which really made it for everyone I think. Here's hoping they don't spoil a fab event.

  5. Steady on guys!!! Best wishes to Al,it's your choice and need not feel you have to justify it to anyone mate. Anyway,TT'ing, road racing?,get a grip you lot.......Mountain Biking is where it's at!!!! Hello, beer !! Did I tell you I have entered the 24hr Strathpuffer wi' the guys fae the GRC?,You see, we can all ride together happily.Adios. 8-)

  6. Lightweights Brian!!!,that boy James McCallum can drink like he rides a bike, really fast and with purpose :uzi ,I wonder where that comes from? I am off on holiday this weekend 8-) ,I will sort out that wee deal we have on my return once I find Martin and Alan, they have gone into hiding!!!

  7. Myself,Kenny Steele,Martin Mulholland and Alan Yeoman and Leslie Scally represented the club at last night dinner. A great night was had,Kenny and I managed to out do the other two by getting to bed around 3!!,the advantage of being young showing through!!,I must add that Brian Smith was still buying shots as we retired for bed,NUTTER.Around £40k was raised on the night, tremendous effort.Well done to all.

  8. Last time we were there the guy was pushing his Christmas nights including a magician!!!,do you think he could make me go faster?!!! Maybe we should have a club night out for Chrimbo? I am away on holiday from 4th Nov to 11th so any other date should be okay for me.

  9. 1st place; Simon Simpson(awesome performance) Oh ya dancer !

    2nd to 9th ;Could not seperate the rest for effort,banter,enthusiasm and just being good buddies,Dave McKellar,Darryl G,Martin Mulhooligan,Al(Simon's pal)Scott D,Ian Manson,Marko Van Whitehead,John Robertson,oh and me!!.

Was nice to see Joyce,Leslie and wee smilie Sarah on the island too, well done.

Cant wait till next instalment. Hello, beer !!

Many thanks for making this another memorable trip guys.

  10. Spoke to Frank today after he nearly knocked me down as we approached each other at 3 mph,me on bike, him in Lexus!!! He really should buy a Jaguar I think!!! He will probably join us right enough at weekend at some point,he looks fit and well,we better watch out,he looks like he could drink a fair few coffees!!!!!

  11. I will go short way too.I think that was general opinion?. I only have a smallish rucksack so if there is a wee shop locally I will get milk and some other needs when we get there. As winter is approaching we better fill ourselves for the season ahead!! Any excuse eh?.
