  1. For anyone less hi tec I have an estimator which will be in use next Sunday on the reliabilty run, Its called an "oot the back - ometer " and will be in use on Sinclair street and the Georgetown on way back
  2. Many thanks to the brave souls who turned up to help lay sleepers and remove concrete posts Paul Mcd & laura , Paul MscK and Liam , Pat , Iain L , Ian M , Stevie B all braved the elements to get the area prepared for container and new fence. Kenny macD avoided heavy work by faking a phone call from one of our sponsors Next work party Tuesday ( time to be advised , but will be daytime) to assist in placing container into position. All help apreciated
  3. Meeting at clubrooms at 11:00am , bring gloves if possible. Plan is to lay out 4 railway sleepers in position and level. Should not take too long. Kenny MacD
  4. Will confirm time once I speak to Shazy about delivery of container.
  5. Sharons dad has donated a 30 foot metal container to the club It requires us to do a bit of prep work for its instalation. I require some bodies to help lay out four railway sleepers and level them at side of clubrooms. This has to be down before Monday. Any volunteers to assist on Saturday morning please let me know asap. The container will store polo bikes , rollers etc and allow the showers to be cleared and give us some essential storage . Well done to Brian as he is actually buying the container ,its not a surplus one that he has at present. Many thanks are due.
  6. As it looks like clubrooms might be too small next year , a question?. How many members would support holding the presentation in a hotel, somewhere within cycling distance so we could make a weekend of it. With most hotels struggling to fill accomodation in January we could get a good deal (approx. £30 per person DBB) If we get hotel with leisure facilities wifes/husbands ( PC) can swim sauna etc. If an interest is shown we can start a saving plan so as people could pay up over the year to spread cost. Please let me know if this idea is worth pursuing
  7. Thank you to all members who donated prizes for the raffle at the presentation. £126 was raised from the raffle and £66 from the Scott Sunderland jersey, Good to see so many members in attendance at the event to applaud our worthy champions. Thanks to all willing helpers who carried out tasks to ensure the event went smoothly ( you know who you are Special thanks to Burn Stewart distillers for donation of liquid prizes, I'm sure that a few sore heads were in evidence this morning
  8. Reminder of comm. meeting and club tidy up night prior to dance on Saturday. Will be down at 6:45pm to start tidy up , meeting 7:30pm. see you there
  9. This years extravaganza takes place on Sunday 29th. February. Remember as its a leap year you can ask your wife /girlfriend to buy you a new bike, its a leap year tradition going back years  Let me know how you get on This is a date not to be missed , lets hope the weather's kinder this year
  10. Sorry if anyone turned up looking for tickets tonight, after an initial surge of members I decided to vacate premises. With 50 youths hanging about outside armed with sticks/baseball bats I feared for safety of my van ( most were Ji Hi pupils who know what I drive) considering majority of them have incurred my wrath at some time I wimped out and headed home

  15. On the good news front :- Neil and Lynne had a baby daughter on 17th. Dec. Mellisa and Lynne both doing well On a sadder note Neils Dad passed away before the birth of the baby following a fight against cancer. I am sure you all join me in wishing Neil and family all the best and sending our thoughts at there sad loss. Neils dad was a member of the Glasgow wheelers in his younger days and a dedicated cyclist till the end.
  16. Hopefully Shazy will pick up on this post and use the info . She welcomes any input in this area.
  17. It is with regret that I have to inform members of the death today of May Young , daughter of Jock Nicol and wife of Jim Young. May was a life time supporter and member of the club , especially in her youth when she travelled all over Scotland with her mother and father. Jim and May were loyal members of the club throughout the years and still kept up to date with the club through me. She died today following a battle against cancer , our thoughts are with Jim and her two daughters .
  18. Moved from clubrooms to Kenny MacD's hoose. Last entry 2:00am Soup and food provided bring your own booze. Kenny MacD
  19. Please send me a message if attending this years party at clubrooms asap. Also I am holding a poll to see if anyone would be interested in booking a youth hostel next year for Hogmanay. We regularly booked Invarary hostel for new year up untill the millenium. Anyone interested in trying it again. Family rooms allow people to stay in comfortable rooms with CH. We would take over whole hostel as sole users . Would allow a good run up and back plus a party night.
  20. Has anyone got Corel draw on there PC ? if yes can you redirect the new Scottish leader logo to Steve Joughin for me.
